On Tuesday, the "Shivers" singer took to Instagram to admit that he hasn't been "that engaged" with his fanbase in a while, but said that things were "looking up" and he would be "back online" again soon.
"I realize I haven't been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of years," Sheeran began, explaining that things in his personal life were driving his social media hiatus.
"The reason I'm making this video is, just being totally honest, I've had some turbulent things going on in my personal life so I just didn't really feel like being online and pretending to be something I'm not when I wasn't feeling like that," he explained. "And I know that sounds weird."
Fortunately, he said that "things are looking up" and he is "back online." He teased his 42 million Instagram followers, warning them that, "weird s--- is gonna start being posted" again soon.

One fan commented, “pls pls pls don‘t feel pressured to post anything! just take your time and do whatever is most comfortable for you. But ngl I‘m excited for the weird sh*tty stuff.”
“It does not sound weird at all! People tend to forget that artists, celebrities, and famous people are human beings just like them. Everyone has ups and downs, Ed! Sh*t happens to us all… glad you took your time to go through what you had to go through. That’s life dear. Welcome back,” another follower chimed in.

Ed Sheeran Recently Welcomed The Birth Of His Second Child
Although the “I Don’t Care” singer didn’t open up about what personal struggles he was facing, fans hope that his growing family is doing well. In May 2022, the “Thinking Out Loud” singer welcomed his second daughter, Jupiter, with his wife Cherry Seaborn.
After first connecting in high school, Seaborn and Sheeran started dating in 2015 and officially tied the knot in 2019. It’s rumored that several of his love songs, including “Perfect” and “Shape of You” were written about her.
On Thursday, May 19, Sheeran posted a photo on Instagram that featured a pair of white baby booties sitting on a brown blanket.“ Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl,” he captioned the snap. “We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4.”
The couple’s first daughter, Lyra Antarctica Sheeran, was born in 2020. On September 1, 2020, Sheeran posted, “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you... Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.”
“We are completely in love with her,” he continued. “Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed.”
