Just when you thought you saw it all... a high school basketball coach decided it was a good idea to impersonate a 13-year-old who was out that day in order to help their team win the game.

The incident was caught on video and the coach has been fired, according to sources.

Arlisha Boykins is a 22-year-old who was an assistant coach on the Churchland junior varsity girls basketball team in Portsmouth, Virginia -- that was until she decided to impersonate a 13-year-old and play on the team.

Boykins reportedly took the place of another teenage student, who was out of town at a club basketball tournament, according to the parents of the 13-year-old girl.

The 22-year-old assistant coach put on the number 1 jersey as she shot free throws and even dove into the stands for a loose ball at one point, all while pretending to be a teenager.

Sources told WAVY TV 10 that the assistant varsity coach was also “encouraging the behavior” during the game.

Frankly, this news is quite upsetting as the coach should have been a role model for the students, not impersonating someone who is 10 years younger than them to help them win a game. (Oh, and not to mention, the team still lost the game.)

The father of the 13-year-old felt the same way as he said, “Coaches always preach to the kids about integrity and those types of things, so I was just shocked."

World Speaks Out

Sports fans around the world spoke out regarding the incident, both disgusted and shocked that this happened.

"And she wore the # 1 jersey lol not humble at all," one Twitter user wrote as another chimed in, "Shameful. On two counts. One for having no integrity and two for losing the game!"

Another sport fan hilariously wrote, "How you gonna be 22, lose and only have 2 highlights against 13 year olds?."

One Twitter user brought up the head coach and how they did not get punished at all during this. "How are we not talking about the head coach and all those kids that went along with it? AD wasn't there either? No one in this place has any morals," they Tweeted.

Similar to something this sports fan Tweeted, "Yea...Just end the season. Too many folks went along with this and said nothing until it was discovered."

"So you mean to tell me nobody on the sidelines did not recognize that was the coach," another user Tweeted before adding, "Heck I don't't know her but I could tell by her shots, the goal line , and the drive with the lay up was more on a College or More of a season player. Had she not try to play like a pro, oh well."

At this time, the school is investigating the incident, but it is clear something more needs to be done aside from just firing the assistant coach.
