Drake has finally made the right call and won himself a mouth-watering payout!
The "God's Plan" rapper cashed out with a big seven-figure payout after placing a $1 million winning bet on the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the Cincinnati Bengals in last week's Sunday AFC Championship.
The Toronto native is known for betting big on major sports tournaments, oftentimes to his detriment, as he usually loses. However, luck shone on him this time, and the "Drake curse" was lifted!
Drake Adds More Large Zeroes To His Bank Account After Winning Bet
The Canadian rapper finally has a reason to smile after breaking the chain on his recent losses on some sports teams he placed a bet on.
Announcing Drake's latest huge accomplishment, the betting company named "Stake" took their official Twitter page to post the rapper's winnings. The "One Dance" crooner apparently placed a bet on January 29 against the Cincinnati Bengals in Sunday's AFC Championship.
He rooted for the Kansas City Chiefs and staked a $1 million winning bet in hopes that they beat their rivals, Cincinnati Bengals. Fortunately for Drake, Kansas City's Harrison Butker won the game on a 45-yard field goal with only seconds remaining, giving the Ontario native a chance to pocket his over $2 million payout.
A lot of sports lovers dropped in hilarious comments under the tweet, with one writing, "@Stake in my Top Tweet this morning Haha ! Congrats, men." Another wrote, "He's winning now...Curse broken."
A third implied, "Ggs [sic] drake!! Its a hundred % Kansas will win this! I'm not looking down on d other teams tho." One was more concerned with getting his cut, he wrote, "Congratulations 👏👏👏@Drake now it's time to share – username: alico53 🤗."
A staunch supporter of Drake hailed the rapper with a lyric from one of his songs, "Papi's Home," writing, "I am standing at the top that's how I know you never seen the top -@Drake doing Drake things. 🔥🏈 ."
The rapper also posted his winnings on his Instagram story as he showed off the staggering seven-figure payout he raked in from placing the lucky bet.
Informing his fans of how he intended to spend the money, he wrote in all caps, "Big Sunday, let's buy mama something nice," and further tagged the betting company, Stake.
The "Jimmy Cooks" Rapper Previously Lost His $1 Million World Cup Bet
Although Drake is now balling and enjoying his million-dollar earnings, this was not always the case, as the rapper has experienced losses he's had to account for.
Per VULTURE, the 36-year-old, unfortunately, lost a $1 million bet he placed on the outcome of the recently-concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and France.
Although he put his money on Argentina winning, the speed at which they won didn't however tilt in his favor. While Lionel Messi did indeed help the team by emerging victorious, it was not as quickly as the rapper had hoped.
Following the screenshot that the "Knife Talk" rapper posted to his Instagram, it was revealed that the artist placed a bet in the 1x2 market, where extra time isn't counted and the result was determined based on the score after 90 minutes of play.
Sadly for the rapper, he didn't end up winning the $2.75 million. Moreso, this wouldn't be the first time Drake is experiencing this kind of loss, as he has in past times been attributed to rooting against teams, resulting in the sporting world having a running joke about the "Drake curse."
Drake Experienced Another Loss Before His $1 Million World Cup Bet
The dad of one remains undefeated when it comes to not getting discouraged by the number of losses an individual can experience.
Per FOX BUSINESS, Drake had his wallet bleeding after losing a bet he placed on Israel Adesanya to defeat Alex Pereira for the UFC Middleweight title at UFC 281.
The "No Guidance" rapper would have raked in a whopping $2,900,000 if Adesanya had emerged as the winner.
Unfortunately, the player who nicknamed himself "The Last Style Bender" received a technical knockout from his Brazilian opponent, leaving him defenseless to receive a few big punches and losing his middleweight title to Pereira.
