It’s been almost 16 years since Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt announced their divorce.
Aniston and Pitt were Hollywood’s golden couple during the 2000s. Jennifer became America’s sweetheart thanks to her role on the hit NBC show “Friends.” Brad was one of Tinseltown’s handsome leading men.
When the two started dating they created a stir, and when they married in July 2000, the media went wild.
Whether they were walking the red carpet or strolling through Los Angeles, cameras loved to capture every moment between the two.
Shocking Divorce
By all accounts, Brad and Jennifer seemed like a couple madly in love. The two would often been photographed holding hands and smiling as they walked the red carpet.
Although they were big named celebrities, Brad and Jennifer were a down-to-earth couple who preferred nights at home with their friends.
In 2001, the two worked together when Brad guest starred on an episode of “Friends,” playing a high-school nemesis of Jennifer’s character.
After four years of marriage, the couple announced their split in January 2005.

Shortly after the couple’s divorce, rumors began to speculate on the reason the two split.
Numerous reports suggested Brad’s relationship with his “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-star Angelina Jolie caused the divorce.
Another report said Brad and Jennifer’s disagreement over children led to their split.
Although, many fans were upset over the couple’s divorce, a 2003 interview with “W Magazine,” seemed to imply there may have been trouble in paradise for the two.
When Jennifer was asked about Brad being the love of her life, the actress replied that she didn’t know, and she didn’t like to use that term of endearment. However, she did praise her husband and thanked him for keeping her grounded.
Life After Their Divorce
Following their divorce, Brad Pitt went on to date Angelina Jolie. He became a dad to Angelina’s three adopted children Maddox, Zahara, and Pax. The couple would go on to have three children of their own: daughter Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne.
After being together for nine years, the couple married in August 2014. However, after two years of marriage, the pair divorced in September 2016.
As for Jennifer, she dated actor Vince Vaughn and musician John Mayer. In August 2015, she married actor Justin Theroux, but after two years of marriage they divorced in February 2018.
Keeping In Touch
Brad and Jennifer have shown there’s bad blood between them.
The exes seem to be on friendly terms, and in 2019, Brad was one of the guest at Jennifer’s 50th birthday party.
Earlier this year, the two shared a moment backstage at the SAG Awards. After winning a supporting actor award for “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” Brad cheered on Jennifer as she won an award for “The Morning Show.” The two would be seen happily chatting backstage as cameras captured the cute moment between the exes.
In September, the two would reunite again when they participated in a Zoom table read of the film “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”
The appearances of Jennifer and Brad together has fans hopeful for a reunion. That may be a possibility now that Pitt has reportedly broken up with his girlfriend Nicole Poturalski.
