Former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Jeannie Mai is feeling the love and having a change of heart for appreciating a beautiful floral arrangement. 41-year-old Mai hit up Instagram this week and was treated to a special gift that she just had to share with her millions of followers. The kind gesture comes on Jeannie Mai’s road to recovery following her hospitalization during “DWTS” that resulted in a life-saving surgery, and most recently her vow to get back in the gym and gain the muscle she lost while bedridden.
Jeannie Mai blossomed before her 2.1 million followers when she flaunted a gorgeous bouquet of fresh flowers while showing off a glowing smile. The photo came with a message explaining what “The Real” co-host used to think about receiving flowers.
“Ready for this? I used to hate flowers? Like, why gift something that dies the moment you’ve plucked it?” Mai captioned the pic.
She added, “Annnd why do I feel guilty not being able to keep it alive & purdy after a couple days?”
Jeannie Mai admitted that she has had a change of heart over receiving flowers and the shift may signal she’s finally “growing up.”
“That girl that’s like ‘gift me hot cheetos and we can be friends?’ Me ??♀️. Alla sudden something changed,” Mai joked.
She continued, “Now I LOVE them. And I GET why they cheer people up. Don’t get me wrong I’ll take a cactus over a needy rose any day but wow..feels like I’m growing up?”
Although she didn’t mention who sent the fresh stems, we’re guessing the gifter feels pretty good after reading that.
Jeannie Mai’s special delivery comes on the heels of the star announcing the start of a new fitness journey following her recent hospitalization.
“After 3 weeks of being sick and unable to eat, I lost 15 lbs of muscle that I previously worked so hard to build. Although I’m incredibly thankful to be back to 100% health, I gotta be honest..this pandemic and my setback left me feeling unmotivated and depressed,” Mai wrote while showing off herself lifting weights.
She added, “I’ve been working slowly to motivate myself to come back stronger and healthier than ever. Starting today I’m hitting an aggressive meal plan of grains and carbs and a basic heavy lifting plan to get back on track.”
