London and Barrymore began their chat talking about London's new Netflix movie, "You People." The movie stars London, Jonah Hill, Eddie Murphy, and Nia Long. Barrymore asked if working with co-writer and director Kenya Barris helped to make is "safer" to work with someone trusted.

"I'm very apprehensive of working right now, just grieving still and just building a new life so I'm very intentional of who I work with and Kenya just created a really safe space and so did Jonah," she said. "This is a new pool that I'm swimming in, so Kenya, knowing him, trusting him and respecting him really helped."

"Every day is different, and so some days you don't want to, you just want to lay there," she said. "My big reason is my children, because they do deserve a really happy mom and they deserve joy and they deserve a house that has music playing and incense going and light coming in the windows. They deserve that. And you know, when you lose someone, they're on the other side wanting you to continue life as well."

In early 2021, London spoke with "Entertainment Tonight" about her first role after her longtime boyfriend's death. When asked about her role in Amazon Prime Video's film, "Without Remorse" she said she filmed the movie in 2019 shortly after his death, and that led her to taking some time off to heal.

"We shot it in 2019 I believe, and forgive me, my memory doesn't serve me so well after grief and everything," she explained. She said that her co-star, Michael B. Jordan reached out to her to see if she wanted to do the film so soon after her boyfriend's tragic death.

"Michael reached out to me as a friend and he was so unsure if I was even going to ever work again. And he was like, 'Look, I'm unsure if this is what you want to do, but I have to follow my intuition, I have to ask you if you can just read the script.'"
