Making history, British singer-songwriter Harry Styles became the first solo cover man to ever grace the mega-magazine cover of Vogue in its 127 years of publications.

Styles shook things up a bit by opting for a ball gown and a custom Gucci Jacket to mark the moment in the history books.

The choice of clothing generated lots of controversies online. American author Candace Owens was offended by the singer's choice and wrote:

“There is no society that can survive without strong Men, bring back manly men.”

Continuing her disapproving tirade in a series of tweets on Monday morning, the 31-year-old talked about what she described as the gradual feminization of our men.

Giving a statement, Owens asked to explain what she meant by the term “Bring Back Manly Men.”

Coming to Styles' defense was the 20-year-old sister of pop sensation Miley Cyrus. Sharing her thoughts on the ongoing controversy, Cyrus commented on Instagram and said Styles looked better in his clothing choice than any 'nappy ass.'

Well Cyrus, that was a mistake!

In response, Owens drew social media attention to Cyrus's remark and asked that someone explain how the Nashville native remark was racist.

After being on the receiving end of considerable backlash, Cyrus realized her mistake and was mortified by the subtle racist remark she had made, which she had no idea was racist.

She apologized on Thursday and promised never to use the term again. She claimed that she had no previous knowledge of the word's history before using it and thanked people for educating her.

The word “nappy” has a long history of use going far back to the slave era when used to refer to African American hair's texture.

In 2007, the racist term was also used by U.S. radio show host Don Imus when he referred to the Rutger's University's basketball team as “nappy-headed ho's.”

After using the term on the radio, Imus removal was demanded by prominent black leaders like Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton. The consequence of using the racist term was severe for Imus, as his talk show was suspended for two weeks by the “CBS Radio and MSNBC.” The presenter was later fired for the use of the term.

Candace Owen Maintains Her Stance On 'Manly Men'

In response to Owens' online jab at him, Styles shared an Instagram post and used the caption “Bring Back Manly Men.”

In mockery, Owens made a tweet disclosing that some people thought she had no influence, but somehow she has Harry Styles dedicating a post to her.

She was not sorry, but the author maintained that toxic masculinity was created for toxic females as real women do not fake feminism.

Responding to Owens' unapologetic comments, a user accused her of being at least 50 years behind on education and culture. Other male artists, such as Iggy Pop, have been cross-dressing for a long time, and there were no mentions of 'manly men.'
