King Von Honored In Hometown Of Chicago With Billboard

It has now been over a month since star Chicago rapper, King Von, was shot and killed in Atlanta. This occurred outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge in the downtown area. An altercation ensued where Von threw the first punch and from there, a shootout ensued. This was reportedly between Von and Quando Rondo's crews. Rondo is another rising rapper out of Savannah, GA. Two others were killed as Von was transported to a local hospital but sadly, didn't make it.
Von Given Billboard In Tribute To Him In Chicago
Hip-Hop been honoring Von since his passing and the latest tribute comes from his hometown of Chicago. There, a billboard was placed as it appears to be in the downtown area. The billboard read "Long live King Von." Many people agreed that he was up next in becoming the next hip-hop star to come out of the city and he was definitely heading in that direction. Others also wished that Von received the love he is getting now back when he was still alive.
King Von's New 'Welcome To O'Block' Album Peaked At No. 5 On The Billboard 200 Chart
A week before Von's murder, he released his debut studio album, "Welcome To O'Block." The title pays homage to the area of Chicago that he grew up in. A week later, it debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart. The next week, Von's streams continued to accumulate heavily for this project as it moved all the way up to the No. 5 spot on this chart. Some of the lead singles were "The Code" featuring Polo G and "All These N**gas" feat. Lil Durk.
Ex-Girlfriend, Asian Doll, Recently Got Von's Face Tattooed On Her Hand
Last month, Asian Doll, a notable Dallas rapper and ex-girlfriend of Von, pondered on the idea of getting a tattoo of him on her face. Many of her fans understandably felt that that was a very bad idea. Soon, she decided on getting a face of Von on her hand and that's what ended up happening. Doll has posted Von frequently on social media since his death. She even released a single for her birthday on December 7 titled "Nunnadet S*it" which resembled a sound that of Von.
Lil Durk Has Been Off Of Social Media Since Von's Passing
Shortly after receiving the news about Von's tragic death on November 6, fellow Chicago rapper and close friend, Lil Durk, posted a tribute on his own Instagram feed. Following that, he deactivated the account. This was looked at as Durk likely needing to take some time to grieve. He briefly returned last weekend but then quickly deactivated the account again. Over the weekend, Durk was also seen at a nightclub with Fredo Bang as they were relaxing and listening to songs by Von.
