Britney Spears Assures Her Fans She's 'Alive And Well' After Instagram Drama

In a Twitter thread posted on Saturday night, the "Hold Me Closer" singer assured her fans that she was "alive and well" after fans called the cops to perform a welfare check on her. Last Tuesday, Britney deactivated her Instagram account, which resulted in several fans calling local law enforcement with their concerns.

Sources say that the cops pulled up to Britney's gate around 11 PM, but according to the pop star, they did not enter her house. Still, she felt that her privacy was "invaded" and asked the public and her fans to respect her privacy "moving forward."

In her latest social media post, Britney shared a video that featured her taking a mirror selfie in the gym. She is wearing a long-sleeve red shirt and black shorts but does not dance for her followers in this video.

Britney Explains Why She Shut Down Her Instagram Account

In a lengthy Twitter thread, the "Slumber Party" singer finally explained why she deactivated her Instagram. She reinstated her account on Saturday afternoon, but it doesn't look like she's ready to post anything there quite yet.

"I shut down my Instagram because there were too many people saying I looked like an idiot dancing and that I looked crazy," Britney wrote. "Honestly I was doing my best but it disturbed me to see people freely talk about it on TV ... yep it hurt my feelings."

She took a quick detour to talk about an "ice cream diet," writing, "I'm sensitive and honestly I would rather take a break and do my ice cream diet anyway ... I know I thought it was a joke too … but it's not … it works … surprisingly enough !!!"

She then returned to the Instagram drama, writing, "I’m shocked as h*ll that when I took my Instagram down fans got worried and sent the cops to my house ... it really was uncalled for ... l adore my fans but for those who did that aren't real fans and I honestly felt like it was a way to make me look bad !!!"

It appears that Britney went out for dinner on Friday night and had another incident with the public, although it seems that, fortunately for Britney, this incident didn't make the news.

"I mean D*MN come on … three girls at a restaurant came up to me yesterday so drunk and loud and sat right beside me with that gross smell of alcohol and got right in my face ... reminded me of my wedding … I was traumatized … Britney explained.

"This time I said please get the f*ck away from me ... Yes … it's Britney B*tch !!!" she wrote. "I woke up and spoke up for myself … can you believe it ??? Honestly I couldn't either … so with that said, please again know I'm doing the best I can …"

She wrapped up her lengthy Twitter thread, writing, "I'm alive, fine, healthy, and ready to start a new day - a new morning anew !!! To my real fans, God bless you !!!"

It sounds like Britney just wants her fans to respect her privacy and allow her to post what she wants without criticism. Hopefully, moving forward, she'll be able to do just that.
