Teyana Taylor is done with the music "machine" after announcing that she's closing the chapter on her music career after feeling "under-appreciated" as an artist for way too long. The 29-year-old singer/songwriter/dancer/model took to Instagram Friday morning to reveal the news to her 11.5 million followers in an emotional message that let everyone know she's grateful for the support over the years, but that she is done being kicked to the wayside by the executives who run the music industry.

Teyana Taylor's message was sparked by the trendy Spotify Wrapped year-end review that everyone is sharing on social media. Teyana shared the 2020 stats for herself as an artist, which included a staggering 162 million streams and over 15 million listeners.
"Wow, who did that? Y’all did that! ?Thank you ? I ain’t gone front in times of feeling super under appreciated as a artist," Teyana captioned the photo.
She added, "... receiving little to no real push from the 'machine', constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked, I mean the list on and on lol."

Within hours of announcing the end of her musical career, Teyana, who once starred in Kanye West's "Fade" video, was flooded with love and support from fans, including many begging her not to give up.
One strong message of support came from her husband, NBA star Iman Shumpert, who wrote:
"I’ve watched first hand how much blood you’ve spilled in this shit. It wasn’t for nothing baby! And we rockin no matter what u choose to do...it’s GONE GO! Love you mostest."
