Hollywood stars actors tend to have jaw-dropping behind-the-scenes stories, and Gerard Butler just shared a really wild one. The Lawyer-turned-actor recently admitted to almost killing his co-star Hilary Swank on the "P.S. I Love You" set.

In the 2007 romantic drama, Butler starred as Gerry, the husband of Swank's character Holly Kennedy. The actor recalled the on-set accident which landed the now 48-year-old in the hospital. He also remembered worrying so much for Swank that he cried.

The film, which was directed by Richard LaGravenese, was inspired by Cecelia Ahern's 2004 novel of the same name. While Swank is now expecting twins with her husband, Butler is focusing on his career and will star in the upcoming film "Plane."

While on an episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show," the "Last Seen Alive" actor recalled how things went down behind the "P.S. I Love You" scenes. The 53-year-old also remembered the accident happening during a part where he danced around "like an idiot."

He explained that Gerry, his character, was supposed to hit himself in the face with a suspender clip while removing his clothes. However, things went sideways when he lost control of the clip and hit Swank in the face instead.

"It gets stuck, it releases [and] flies over my head, hits her in the head — slashes her head."
