After Two Miscarriages Last Year, Chanen And Juwan Johnson Are Expecting!
Chanen and Juwan's fertility journey has been filled with ups and downs, and the couple has shared their story every step of the way on social media. When many might shy away from sharing their experiences, Chanen has chosen to be transparent and help others know they aren't alone.
"I've talked so much about my experiences. It sucks how many women go through this and feel they have to keep it to themselves," she told The Blast. "I felt I needed to talk about it and by sharing it hopefully it helps. I've had so many women reach out to me and express that. It's been part of my healing process."
The couple got pregnant three times in 2022 and have shared their experiences with their social media followers. "The ups and downs were definitely intense. We got pregnant in March, lost in June, pregnant again in July and lost that one. We found out about this pregnancy in November," she said. "Having multiple pregnancies before this one is extra stressful. I'm a little more anxious than the average pregnant woman. But this time around, I believed this was it."
Chanen and Juwan always knew they wanted children, as far back as when they got married nearly three years ago. "We're literally so excited to have a child. We're coming up on our third year of marriage and were ready to have kids right away but didn't get the green light from doctors until 2022," she explained. "It's so nice to enjoy this pregnancy and take it day by day. It was a challenge to stay quiet about the pregnancy for two months before telling the world."
Juwan And Chanen Are Having A Big Gender Reveal This Weekend!
The couple is eagerly awaiting their big gender reveal this weekend, and of course, will share the moment on social media for everyone following along on their exciting journey. "We are so excited! We are headed out to Virginia tomorrow which is a middle ground for both our families," she said. "We are going to have a big gift box with pink or blue balloons in it."
Chanen said she wants to really enjoy the moment so she won't be posting the gender reveal video immediately, but she doesn't want to make anyone wait so she plans to shortly after the exciting moment.
When asked if she has a preference, of course a healthy baby is what they are hoping for. But if she had to choose, she would choose pink. "I'm surrounded by men so I would love a girl," she said. "Juwan would be happy with either, too, but if he could, he would choose all girls. He's such a girl dad."
Chanen shared a funny gender reveal tease on social media about two weeks ago captioned, "Everything we’ve ever dreamed of." And while it wasn't a real gender reveal, their followers loved the hilarious practice run. "How did I know you were gonna pull somethin like this😆," one person wrote. "Lmao I knew you weren’t giving it away that easily 😂," said another.

As for baby names, the couple hasn't settled on any just yet, but they know what direction they are going in. "We're waiting to choose a name. We have ideas, but I think when we find out the gender we will solidify a name," she said. "It will be a unique name."
Chanen And Juwan's Social Media Presence Grabs Tons Of Attention
Chanen started posting on TikTok back in 2020 and her fan base quickly grew. The page now has more than 2.7 million followers with an additional 141K on Instagram. The vibe on their pages is "everyone's friends" due to their relatable nature. Not only do many people drop into the comments of the videos to leave positive messages, but Chanen personally responds to many and makes followers feel like they are close friends.
Their videos are relatable, hilarious, and just plain old fun. Juwan just goes with whatever Chanen has in mind and their videos get tons of views, likes and comments. "He is such a trooper. We do so many funny videos and he's never been difficult about it. He's just in on it all," she said. "We have so much fun doing it. We don't care what people think or if they make fun of us for it."
When Chanen first started posting on social media, she received some backlash and it made her change her mindset about any haters. "I used to be extremely sensitive to the hate. We started in 2020 and the hate hurt my feelings so much. We used to get hate based on race and it offended me. I didn't know what to do about it," she explained. "When he made it into the NFL, it heightened. It was really hard for me. I wasn't used to being on the Internet. The only way I was able to cope was by making fun of it. Over the years, I started making jokes out of it and act like what people say I am. It's working and I'm able to make light of a situation."
Now, the couple receive more positive, happy, uplifting comments and have a strong fan base of people who genuinely care about them and their lives. After announcing their pregnancy, many took to the comments to share their thoughts. "IN TEARS 😭😭😭 you two are so deserving and this is one incredibly loved baby already! 🤍," one follower wrote. "I’ve never been so happy for people I don’t know in my life. Congratulations!!," added another. "This is everything I teared up!!!!!! CONGRATS BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE❤️❤️❤️," said another.
