Lil Wayne's ex-girlfriend revealed that the rapper carried a firearm for protection at all times... even in the bedroom.
Melissa Howe, a British PlayboyPlus model that claims to have dated the star in 2017-2019, gave an interview to The Sun where she alleged that Weezy was fearful after the murders of Nipsey Hustle and XXXtentacion. She said Wayne was rarely without protection and even pulled out of high-profile events due to security gun checks. Her interview comes on the heels of reports that the rapper is facing up to 10 years for a felony gun charge in December.

Howe didn't seem to have any reservation when discussing Weezy's private life and spoke about the fact that he was armed like it was no big deal.
"I met him at a party in Miami just before New Year's Eve in 2017 and we dated until the end of last year," Howe told The Sun.
She continued, "When I was dating him, he'd always carry a gun on him, he'd have it next to his bed or on the cabinet and would bring it with him in his car wherever he went."

The Playboy model continued to sing like a canary and gave her explanation as to why he was always strapped.
"I remember thinking 'What the hell?' but he was worried he would get shot because people around him had been getting attacked and killed like Nipsey Hustle and XXXTentacion," she said. "And he thought he would be targeted like them."
Over the past few years, Wayne has made headlines for canceling shows at the last minute and Mellisa claims that it was often due to his firearms.
"There were even events he would pull out of if they did a security check on him because he was carrying a gun - he would pass on high paid events just because of the gun checks."

Last week, Weezy was officially charged with a felony over a December incident where authorities searched his private jet.
According to reports, The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida charged Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter) was with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted.
The charge stems from an incident last year where federal agents stopped the private jet Lil Wayne was abord when it arrived at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport.

Despite the recent felony charge, the rapper has continued to operate business as usual and has been promoting upcoming appearances and performances. He expressed his excitement about participating in the Mike Tyson VS Roy Jones fight.
"Stoked to be performing on this historic night!!! Live on Pay-Per-View this Saturday at 9pm EST @Triller #TysonJones!! @miketyson @royjonesjrofficial @naterobinson @jakepaul ??," he wrote on Instagram.
Wayne even gave turkeys away for the Thanksgiving holiday in his home town of New Orleans.
