Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy is praising her body after the birth of her child!
The star and her husband, Val Chmerkovskiy, known for appearing on the show "Dancing With The Stars," just welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. It has been more than two weeks since he was born, and his parents have chosen to be a bit secretive about him, with the exception of a few pictures. However, in a new post, the Latin dancer recalled her experience during delivery while filled with gratitude.
Jenna Johnson Pens Tribute To Her Body After Labour
Having a baby is a special event and deeply personal, especially for a first-time mom. The American ballroom dancer took to Instagram to share photos of herself in the hospital while in labor.
In some images, her husband could be seen playing around, keeping things light-hearted as the slide show ended with a picture of her holding the newborn. In the caption, the new mother described how she felt during labor and delivery — "excitement, fear, pure exhaustion, and so much love." Johnson partly wrote:
"I've always appreciated my body and what it's been able to help me do and create within my craft… but nothing can prepare you for what a miraculous vessel it is and what it goes through during labor."
The choreographer then revealed that she spent about 30 hours before they finally got to meet their son. In conclusion, she noted, "Forever grateful I had the best support system to get me through 🫶🏼"
In the comments, her beau jokingly wrote under her post, "Who wants to see the video 😏," while a fan gushed, "Oh baby, this is so beautiful. Proud of you, mamma 😍." Another noted, "The sweetest moments. So happy for you, Jenn/Val. Life is forever changed⚡️."
While congratulating the couple, some commended her for posting candid photos, like this user who wrote, "Women are amazing! You look beautiful- I love that you shared the "real" pics of labor! Congrats on baby C!"
Fans will recall that the lovebirds had tied the knot in 2019 and struggled with infertility for two years before announcing in July last year that they were expecting a baby. Per The Blast, a month later, they updated their followers that the baby was a boy.
The "So You Think You Can Dance" alum shared a black and white image through an Instagram post that featured Chmerkovskiy's hands cradling that of his wife's as their newborn held her thumb. "Our world is forever changed 🤍1.10.2023," she wrote in the caption.
Soon after, the comment section was filled with well wishes from fans and friends, writing, "Congratulations!!!!!! Welcome to the best part of your lives ❤️" One user joked about their kid coming out of the womb dancing like his parents, "Congrats. Kid probably came out doing the salsa. Haha."
Another noted, "Chills!!!! So happy for you both! Sending you all so much love!!!! 🥰✨🤍," while their colleague Derek Hough exclaimed, "Wowza !!!!! This is perfect! So happy for you all. A new beautiful family begins."
'DWTS' Star Lauds Husband, Two-time' World Latin Dance' Champion For Making Her Feel Beautiful
The TV personality duo made pregnancy appealing as they prepared to welcome their son and were over the moon about the prospect of becoming parents. The Blast shared that the 28-year-old got candid about how supportive her beau had been since she got pregnant.
She noted that he made her feel "super-empowered" and would constantly shower her with praises for carrying their child while enjoying every phase of the journey. The "SYTYCD" star noted that it was surprising to her because they had been actively trying to conceive for a while, adding, "And this is something we've wanted for a very long time in our relationship. So I knew that [Val] would be awesome and excited."
Apart from that, Johnson shared that the experience was on a different level as he made sure to help her feel beautiful despite her changing body. She explained further, saying:
"I've always been pretty toned, pretty in shape, because of dance. And so, while my body has constantly been changing, it's been a lot and confusing at times. But he has made me feel so special and so beautiful."
