Kelly Ripa Calls Out Husband Mark Consuelos For Insensitive Comments While She Was In Labor

Kelly Ripa recently shaded her husband, Mark Consuelos, for his tone-deaf comments while she was in labor. Ripa's post drew comments from fellow mothers who shared similar experiences with their partners during childbirth.

The TV personality is very candid about her relationship with her husband, as she once revealed to Andy Cohen all the crazy places they've had sex in, including his home.

Ripa's interview with Cohen isn't the first time she's spoken about their lovemaking. She and Consuelos once joked that the actress uses their active sex life to settle their disagreements. Consuelos also revealed their daughter, Lola once walked in on them being intimate and that it was hilarious.

Ripa recently called out her hubby, Consuelos, for his insensitive comments while she was in labor for one of their kids. According to Page Six, She replied to a post on Instagram of a viral graphic with the message, "What is one thing that your partner did, said, or brought to the hospital that really helped you through your birth experience?"

The "Live with Kelly and Ryan" host then commented on several things Consuelos said while she was in labor. She said the "All My Children" star asked, "Do you mind if I eat?" And also stated, "I'm going to the batting cages since you're gonna be here a while." However, Ripa didn't clarify which one of their three kids she was birthing when Consuelos made the comments.

Ripa's comment was one of the thousands of messages by fellow mothers who shared their similar Labour experiences with their partners. One user commented (per Page Six), "Right before I started pushing: 'It's okay if you poop, I sh*t my pants when I was 23.'" The mom shared that her husband tried to instruct her on "how to push correctly."

Another comment read, "As I'm getting wheeled into the operating room for a C section… 'so you're just going to give up.'"

A third mom commented that while doctors were inserting her epidural, her partner hugged her for support and then said, "Omg my back hurts from bending over like that."

Despite his tone-deaf comments, Ripa and Consuelos have been going strong since they got married in May 1996. The "Hope & Faith" star has previously spoken about their sex life, saying she doesn't ever tire of making love with her husband because he ensures "the woman comes first," and he "pleases her over and over."

During a recent interview with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live," Ripa shared some of the wild locations she and Consuelos have had sex. Cohen said, "Based on your Instagram PDA alone, it's hard to imagine there's a place where you and Mark haven't done the deed."

He then asked if Ripa and Consuelos have "schtupped" in a public bathroom or boat, to which the actress said "yes" and "yes." She also confirmed that they've been intimate on the "All My Children" set and even at Cohen's rental home on Fire Island.

The interview with Cohen isn't the first time Ripa has spoken about her and Consuelos' sex life. She revealed some of their experiences in her book, "Live Wire." During a September 2021 interview, the couple joked about how Ripa likes using their active sex life to settle their disagreements.

Over the course of their marriage, Consuelo and Ripa have had three kids, Michael, Lola, and Joaquin, who haven't been spared from their parents' raunchy acts. While co-hosting Ripa's talk show in 2019, Consuelos disclosed that Lola once walked into their room while they were busy in bed.

He said, "She opens the door … and we're like 'Ah, close the door, knock, what are you doing?'" Ripa then added, "She shuts the door and you hear, 'You just ruined my birthday and my life, and I used to see in color and now everything is gray.'"
