Nia Long has made it clear what her relationship status is after recently triggering romance rumors with Omarion. Long and Omarion were photographed hugging and holding hands happily at her recent LA film premiere. The actress's clarification on her love life comes after a recent split from her fiance Ime Udoka.
Long split from Udoka after his affair scandal at the Bolton Celtics, from which he was also suspended as head coach. At the time, the actress's rep confirmed they had separated but would co-parent their son, Kez, together. Udoka has not addressed the allegations that led to his suspension, but he made an apology statement accepting the decision.
Despite their split, Long has openly criticized the suspension, saying the publicity of it was inconsiderate to her family. In several interviews, the actress said no one, especially the team, thought of the impact on her kids. The "Fatal Affair" star also spoke about how devastating the whole affair controversy was on their son, Kez.

Nia Long Says She's 'Single AF'
At the recent January 17th Los Angeles premiere of her new film "You People," Long was photographed in some cozy poses with singer Omarion. They walked the red carpet together and were photographed holding hands and even hugging at one point.
After the event, Omarion posted several photos to his Twitter page, including footage of his moments with Long. He added a blushing emoji to his posts, which were then quoted by TheShadeRoom on Instagram. The gossip page captioned their post of Omarion's tweets with "The smile on # Omarion's face says it all!"

However, Long quickly took to the Instagram post to clarify her relationship status. She commented, "Everybody simmer down… I'm single AF." The comment section quickly filled with comments from other women encouraging Long to enjoy being single but not to spurn Omarion.
Nia Long Recently Split From Ime Udoka
Long's update on her relationship status comes not long after she and Ime Udoka ended their relationship after over 13 years together. A rep for the actress confirmed the news to E! News in December 2022, saying they'd work together to co-parent their son, Kez. Long also has another son, Massai, from a relationship before she met Udoka.
The rep said the former couple are "no longer together but remain fully committed to co-parenting their son." Another source spoke to People, "The situation is unfortunate and painful, but Nia is focusing on her children and rebuilding her life." Long and Udoka's split came shortly after news broke of his affair with a female staffer in his team, the Bolton Celtics.
Ime Udoka Was Suspended From His Job
Two months before Long split from Udoka, the Celtics released a statement announcing Udoka's suspension from his position as head coach. The statement claimed the suspension was due to several "violations of team policies."
Earlier that day, ESPN released a report with multiple sources claiming Udoka had been intimately involved with "a female member of the franchise's staff." Udoka has yet to address the scandal, but when the suspension was made public, he released an apology statement.
The statement to ESPN reporter Malika Andrews read, "I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team's decision."
Nia Long Criticized The Suspension
Despite their breakup, Long has made it clear publicly that she was against making Udoka's suspension a public matter. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in December, she said, "It feels like no one thought of me, of my children. I think the Celtics were irresponsible, and it was hurtful."
The "The Best Man" actress also spoke about how "incredibly difficult" it's been for her to manage the affair controversy and to be a mom to her sons. During another interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Long shared that it was particularly difficult "seeing my son's face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public."
