Keke Palmer Says She's Feeling Good About Pregnancy
The "Akeelah and The Bee" actress recently made an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast and couldn't contain her happiness as she revealed that she has been feeling good while she awaits the due date of her pregnancy.
"I think that my baby is like a warrior or something like that because I've been good, y'all," she said per People magazine. "I haven't had any nausea like I've had moments where I'm like gagging, where I'll just sit there and it'll make me feel that way. But I won't actually throw up; I won't actually run to the bathroom."
"It doesn't last more than like 10 seconds, it's like a wave of something," she added.
Palmer is expecting her first child together with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson. Jackson took to Instagram to share an ultrasound image of their baby, captioning the carousel, "To 2022, thank you for giving me a family."
Keke Palmer Can't Wait To Meet Her Baby
The "Nope" actress spoke candidly to Page Six about how she feels as she waits to give birth during the New York Film Critics Circle Awards.
"I'm very excited, nervous, and curious more than anything because it's one of those things that no one can really prepare you for," she said, going on to add, "More than anything, I can't wait to get my hands on my baby."
Palmer, 28, also admitted to the news outlet that she has been a little less aggressive lately because of her pregnancy.
"I'm a naturally fast-paced person," she explained. "For me, life is going at least 90 miles per hour, that's me cruising. So yeah, I think in general, whether it's the holidays or this transition I'm having in my life, slowing down is definitely not something that comes naturally to me."
The actress previously acknowledged that her transition into motherhood has brought about an evolution in her life, adding that she is learning "to really take it easy" during this period.
She emphasized that her choice would not interfere with her "drive" and "passion" but rather is assisting her in becoming a better and more astute version of herself.
She Is Excited About Being A First Time Mom
According to People magazine, the Emmy award-winning actress expressed excitement at the prospect of becoming a mother soon.
"I'm so excited to be dancing with my damn baby. I'm ready to be giving all the love," she said. "I think about it every day."
She added, "What's it gonna be when I first lay eyes on you? What's it gonna be with our first moments together?" Before teasing, "But also, are you gonna bust my damn vagina apart? That too."
The actress went on to reveal that her "baby moves all the time."
"Right now I'm at like 31 weeks, so the baby is getting bigger," she explained. "Eventually I'll get to the point where I probably will see fingers and stuff, but I don't know if it's that big yet. I don't know if the power is there yet. But I definitely feel, and you can see movement."
Palmer first addressed pregnancy rumors last December when she revealed she was expecting a child while hosting "Saturday Night Live."
"I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you y'all, but it's even worse when they're correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, 'cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?" she noted. "But honestly, this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I'm going to be a mom."
Keke Palmer Reminisced On Her Long Career
The "Hustlers" actress, who has enjoyed an agelong, enduring career, took time to reflect on her journey as she was awarded the Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Nope" during the New York Film Critics Circle Awards.
"Time flies it really does shock me when I think about how long I've been doing it but I really love it," Palmer told Page Six.
She added, " I'm really so lucky that I found something I love to do so early and that I stuck with it even when it get hard because it definitely got hard and it doesn't always pay to be an actor, but I'm happy I stuck with it because it's always given more to me than I feel I've been able to give it."
