Britney Spears Fighting Dad Jamie Over $300,000 He Spent Of Her Money

Britney Spears is demanding $300,000 spent by her father to be returned to her bank account ASAP.
According to court documents, Britney says she believes her father Jamie Spears screwed her by overspending hundreds of thousands on her former business manager.
Britney’s longtime business manager, Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group, recently resigned citing death threats. Jamie went out and hired another business manager without informing his daughter. The two are currently fighting over Jamie hiring the new representative without consulting Britney.

However, Britney is now taking issue with the amount of money Jamie paid to Tri Star. She says the company was brought on over a decade ago. The firm was paid a 5% commission on Britney’s gross entertainment-related income. Many #FreeBritney fans have blamed the company and its head, Lou Taylor, for Britney’s problems.
Britney says she had no real issue with the commissions paid until last year. She points out she announced her “indefinite work hiatus” in early 2019.
The same year Tri-Star reportedly demanded an increase in their pay. They wanted a 5 percent commission with a $500k annual minimum.
She says her dad agreed to the deal without trying to negotiate at all. Britney says Tri Star was paid $308,974.51 for the year thus far. The singer wants the payment “disallowed” and returned back to her account. She believes the payment was excessive and should not have been made.
The two are set to be in court later today.
As The Blast previously reported, Britney is making moves to strip her father of his powers in the 12-year-long conservatorship. She believes he has been mismanaging her finances and wants a corporate firm to take control.
In regard to Jamie hiring another business manager without her approval. Britneyaid her father’s decision caused concern because his goal, "is to introduce a new gatekeeper who admittedly has a major working relationship with [Jamie's] legal team."
Jamie has been fighting his daughter every step of the way.
In court documents, Jamie has been arguing that Britney might not have the mental capacity to make her own decisions. He says he managed her estate properly for the past decade. He claims when he was brought on to take control Britney was drowning in debt.
Jamie says Britney was facing numerous lawsuits and racking up a bunch of bills. He claims with his work the estate is now worth an estimated $60 million dollars. A judge has yet to make a ruling on the matter.
