Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin came home after traveling back and forth across the country for work and got comfy at home only to discover that someone had been rummaging through the intimate drawers in her bedroom. However, instead of a nefarious plot, the gold-medal star was met with an amazing present left by her friend, who happened to have access to the house for watching the dog, and placed in a spot that only Liukin herself would eventually stumble upon.

Nastia Liukin may not be competing in gymnastics anymore, at the ripe ol' age of 31, but she's still very much involved in the sport, especially when it gets time for the Olympics. This weekend she did an up and back to New York from her home in Dallas, Texas to provide coverage for the International Gymnastic Federation's first live event, dubbed the Friendship & Solidarity meet. The action went down in Tokyo, so Liukin was part of the coverage team from 11PM - 2AM.
Afterward, she hit the airport and headed back home to Texas.
Upon returning home, Liukin revealed that she was sent a text by her BFF, Jenny Kwon, who notified the star a gift had been left in her nightstand. After making her way to the perfectly decorated white nightstand, Liukin gently slid open the drawer to reveal a Kobe Bryant jersey neatly folded along with a card laid on top.
Nastia Liukin was a huge fan of fellow Olympian Kobe Bryant, and the late NBA star was a huge fan and supporter of the U.S. Gymnastics team.

Liukin could not contain her excitement from the gift from her friend, and although she didn't reveal the contents of the note she left a public thanks for her BFF over the gesture.
"YOU are the definition of the best forever friend I could have ever wished for... and anyone and everyone that meets you tells me how lucky I am to have you."
She added, after the red-eye flight:
"[That's] all because you know I'm already emotional with a full night sleep so just be glad you're thousands of miles away rn... but for real: FREAKING LOVE YOU."

Nastia Liukin was as stunned and heartbroken as the rest of the world after Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi were killed in a tragic helicopter crash back in January. At the time, the fellow gold-medal Olympian had a tough time expressing her sorrow:
"[Hard] to formulate words right now. thank you kobe. thank you for being such an inspiration. thank you for making me believe we are all so much more than our greatest accomplishments. will forever and ever remember you. praying so hard for your family... rest in peace kobe + gigi," Liukin wrote on Twitter at the time.
