Teddi Mellencamp is facing more haters after filming her 8-year-old daughter running on a treadmill just months following her alleged "starvation scam." The former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star found herself catching backlash over the weekend when she posted a video of her oldest daughter, Slate Arroyave, exercising in a sports bra.
In the footage that was shared on Teddi Mellencamp's Instagram Saturday morning, the ex-reality star is heard cheering on her child as she works out in their home.
Teddi Mellencamp is behind the camera filming while Slate sweats on a Peloton treadmill worth nearly $3k. In all fairness, her daughter seems to be into the workout but it doesn't help Teddi's cause at all. The "RHOBH" star, who was fired months ago, has been accused of running a "starvation scam."
Teddi Mellencamp's wellness company, All In By Teddi, made headlines in September after paying customers exposed the rigorous fitness requirements and diet which allegedly restricted some to as low as 500 calories a day.
So, when followers saw Teddi Mellencamp's 8-year-old following in her mom's workout footsteps, trolls were quick to judge. It seemed as if the "RHOBH" star was prepared for backlash because she explained why Slate was running and made it clear that her child came up with the idea.
"Slate is 7 days in to her a mile a day challenge. Some days she walks. Some days she runs and tries to beat her fastest pace," Teddi Mellencamp captioned Slate's controversial running footage.
Claiming that Slate began mile challenge because she was "having trouble sleeping after spending so much time on zoom during online school," the ex-Bravo star added that "she feels so much better doing it." That didn't stop one hater from coming for Teddi Mellencamp. Interestingly enough, the comment has now appeared to be deleted.
"I don’t like this ? where did body positive go❤️," one person replied on the video which caused several fans to speak up, defending Teddi Mellencamp's footage.
"You don’t get it. Our kids are doing everything on a computer. How dare you say something about her daughter. You’re sick!! This is so healthy and positive," a follower clapped back. Just last month, Teddi Mellencamp spoke out about her company's backlash.
"We strongly object to these claims that our methods and practices were the cause of any of these alleged issues," a rep for Teddi told The Blast. "Our approach involves around a daily intake of 1100-1200 calories, similar to many other popular (and safe) wellness programs, to help our clients jumpstart a pattern of cleaner eating and more exercise."
