The “Coat Of Many Colors” singer wished herself a happy birthday in a heartwarming video shared on her Instagram, singing a cute birthday song for herself. After singing, she noted that she wanted to give to the world instead of receiving gifts.
Parton told her fans, “Somebody said, 'What are you gonna get on your birthday?' I said, 'I'm not gonna get. I'm gonna give.' I've got a song that I'm dropping today on my birthday.” The songwriter further shared her revelation about the song, “It's a song that came to me in a dream, and I felt like it was worth putting out there. Something special — well, it's special to me."
"I had a dream about God standing on a mountain, looking down on us, saying, 'Don't make me have to come down there,'" she said.
"And then it woke me up. I got up. I started writing this song over a period of weeks, months. I finished it as things would come to me, and I just felt like I should drop it on my birthday. So, I hope you enjoy it."
Several fans and other celebrities wished the icon a happy birthday. A follower raved, “You’re the best Dolly! Just like you to share your heart and music with us on your birthday. Joy and light to you ❤️. Jerry Saltz penned, “Thank you for changing the world 🔥🔥”
The new single titled “Don’t Make Me Have To Come Down There,” was created in Parton’s usual fusion of acoustic guitar, and the lyrics were written from the perspective of God. "Don't make me have to come down there," Parton sang. "My children, you had best beware / If you don't pay attention consequences will be dire / Don't make me have to come down there.”
The song’s cover art showed an open sky with light from it illuminating several tall buildings, which presumably signifies God looking down on the earth.
Fans would recall that the “Jolene” singer’s career started at an early age, having been born to musically talented parents. Per reports, Parton professionally recorded her first song, “Puppy Love,” in 1957.

Subsequently, her single “Joshua” earned her the No.1 spot on the Billboard chart. Also, Parton’s 13th studio album “Jolene” topped the charts in 1974. Three years later, another album from the singer, “Here You Come Again,” earned her a Grammy award.
The well-recognized singer took a turn into acting and starred in “9 to 5,” which featured her hit song of the same name, and her performance earned her several awards. Ever since, she has been on a roll, blessing fans with her impressive vocals and her big heart!
