Chelsea Handler Details Fending Off Married Men On Dating Apps

Chelsea Handler is having one hell of a time on the dating cycle. She shares some of the lousy men she has encountered in her pursuit of love.

The comedian appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and exchanged cringey dating stories with one another. The women have both used dating apps at one point or another, currently, it is Handler’s moment to peruse the apps and she has nothing good to report back so far.

The 47-year-old began with a story about a man who contacted her only to tell her that he is married with kids! “I was talking to this guy and we were texting and the third text in he said something like, ‘Oh I’m just putting the kids to bed with my wife.’”

Handler was obviously shocked “I re-read it and I went, ‘What?’ and then I went back and he said, ‘Just here for friends, married with children,’ and I thought, ‘Who’s on a dating app to meet friends?’”

“Like if you don’t have friends…I was like, ‘Look buddy I’m not talking to you to become friends.’ I know that was so weird to me and I was looking and I guess that’s a category where you can be like, ‘I’m just here to meet people,’” says the Chelsey Lately host.

Barrymore knows exactly what Handler is experiencing she has had some of her own dating woes in the past and the not-so-distant past at that. “I see that a lot that I’m just here to make friends and I’m like, ‘Okay we’re all shopping here and if your cart is full why are you here?’” she joked.

Barrymore shared a weird story of her own, a man wrote on his profile, “I grew up above a cobbler’s shop so the scent of leather is so nostalgic and every time I smell it I’m brought back to my childhood.”

When she referenced the beautiful sentiment, the man came back with a surprising answer. “I was like jokingly, ‘Well if I smell any leather today I’ll let you know,’ but I said, ‘What an interesting story,’ and he said, ‘Oh I made it up,’ and I just went, ‘Block.’”

Needless to say, Handler has dated a lot of surprising people in the past. She had an on/off relationship with rapper turned TV show creator and producer 50 Cent. Fellow comedian Jo Koy also had the pleasure of dating Handler.

She once said of him and their relationship, once it was over, “Jo - you blew my creativity open, my lust for working hard again, being on the road again, and you reminded me who I was and always have been, and my feet have never been more firmly planted in the ground.”

Handler also dated chef Bobby Flay for a hot second. The two were seen on a date back in 2016, she has also dated a businessman and an animal trainer on her quest to find the one! Hopefully, Handler continues sharing her dating stories if they are this entertaining.
