Jennifer Lopez commemorates the second anniversary of her pop-influenced single, released on November 27, 2020.
The music video shows Lopez as an angel after she sinks to the bottom of the sea to transform into a mermaid and finally flies away as a dove. No wonder the songstress decided to channel the angelic vibe for the song’s anniversary.
Jennifer Lopez Shares Enchanting Photos For 'In the Morning' 2nd Anniversary
The 53-year-old took to her Instagram story to share several clicks with her 231M followers. The angelic pictures showcased Lopez rocking a stunning fashion makeover from the song’s video with a caption that read "2YearsOfInTheMorning" while snippets from the music played loudly.
One snap captured a moment where the dancer was bent over with enormous wings protruding from her back. The following image displayed the gorgeous singer striking a pose in a long off-shoulder white ruffled-designed gown paired with a short blonde bob wig.
The third post piggybacked off the previous post, but this time, a mapped-out flower print could be seen on the wig, as well as the flawless makeup and alluring chest region.
The song "In the Morning" was recorded by the singer after composing the lyrics with seven other writers, including Daniel Rondon, Tim Sommers, James Abrahart, and Patrick Ingunza. Jackson Foote and Johnny Simpson were the producer’s brains behind the record.
As for what the song meant to Lopez, she stated that the video was a representation of "a one-sided dark relationship." She further mentioned that it captures "the realization that you can’t change anyone else."
The song was performed live for the first time on December 31, 2020, during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, the annual New Year's Eve television special. The two minutes forty-seven seconds song was described by GSG media as "a gem which sees the singer take on a new direction."
Jennifer Lopez Received Special Message From Her Husband, Ben Affleck
On the personal front, Lopez, who tied the knot with Ben Affleck in an intimate wedding ceremony last year, has been in the love bubble with her second-time lover- who she dated at length from mid-2002 to early 2004.
The couple first exchanged vows on July 16, 2022, in Las Vegas, and then in August of the same year, in the presence of friends and family, they walked down the aisle. Lopez’s twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, and Affleck’s children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, were all present to witness the lavish ceremony that lasted three days at the well-known actor’s Georgia estate.
An earlier report by The Blast detailed the special message engraved on the engagement ring she received from her husband. Speaking to Zane Lowe on his “Apple Music One” radio show, the “Selena” actress recounted how the first diamond ring she got from her then fiancé, Affleck, had the inscription “Sing” on it and further explained the meaning behind the engraved words.
The "Hustlers" actress confirmed that the particular message inspired a song on her upcoming music project, “This is me…Now.” She opened up about the emotional suffering that sent her into a spiral, claiming she felt like she “was honestly gonna die” after their previously stated first breakup.
During the conversation, Lopez revealed to the host that the engagement ring the Oscar Award winner gave her also had the words “Not.Going.Anywhere.” inscribed. She recounted:
"I remember my first diamond ring, he gave me the pink diamond ring, it said ‘sing,’ and this one he put ‘not.going.anywhere.’ because that’s the way he would sign his emails when we started talking again. Like don’t worry… I’m not going anywhere."
As fans might recall, the lovebirds came apart after a brief relationship. Hence, the report details the struggle the “If You Had My Love” crooner had with the breakup. Lopez stressed that the decision to separate from Affleck made her suffer greatly for the next “18 years”. She said:
"Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago it was the biggest heartbreak of my life and I honestly felt like I was gonna die. It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right, but now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending."
The Grammy award winner recalled the fallout being so “painful” that she “wouldn’t even perform” any of the songs from the “This is me…Then” album. The “On the floor” singer further noted, “That was part of what destroyed us, the outside energy that was coming at us. It was hard and we loved each other.”
