Emily Simpson Slams Former 'RHOC' Cast Members For Manipulations, Compares Series To 'Survivor'

Emily Simpson doesn't always feel secure when it comes to her full-time role on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" cast. In fact, at times, she's felt as if she's starring on "Survivor" as she attempts to retain her position within the cast.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight on October 14, ahead of the season 15 premiere, Emily, who joined the Bravo reality series in 2018 for its 13th season, admitted that it isn't always easy to continue to stay relevant.

After being asked about the exits of Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge, who left the "RHOC" cast in January, Emily said that when it comes to the dynamic between her and her co-stars, it actually improved when they left because there was less manipulation happening amongst the group.

"I feel like the dynamic among the cast members is much more real and authentic," Emily explained to the outlet over video chat. "I don't think there's a lot of the normal manipulation going on."

According to Emily, she's felt that she is battling to keep her job on the show for years as if she's starring on "Survivor."

"You feel like you're not on a reality show, you feel like you're on 'Survivor,' where you're trying to make alliances with people so you don't get kicked off the Housewife Island," she explained.

Emily went on to say that she felt as if she was competing with her "Real Housewives of Orange County" for the past two seasons of the series.

"That's really basically what I felt like for the last two years was, like, I'm just trying to be friends with someone so that I don't get kicked off the Housewife Island," she continued. "This season, I felt like I was less on the defense and more able to be myself and just have real relationships with the other cast members."

During the premiere episode of "RHOC," Emily was seen in a great place with her husband, Shane, as the two of them celebrated their 11-year wedding anniversary.

After feuding with her "RHOC" co-star, Gina Kirschenheiter, during the show's 14th season over whether or not they were being good friends to one another as Emily addressed her marriage issues with Shane and Gina's marriage to ex Matt came to an end, Emily and Gina reconciled amid season 15.
