Ezra Miller is set to plead guilty in their ongoing felony burglary case, as stated in a plea deal they made with prosecutors. The actor is pleading guilty to a lesser charge of unlawful trespassing after previously pleading not guilty. They were initially accused of breaking in and stealing liquor from a neighbor's home in Vermont.
Court documents reportedly show that Miller's plea deal comes with a suspended sentence, a year's probation, and a fine. There were previously facing over 20 years of jail time for the felony burglary charge and are yet to comment on the plea deal. Ezra Miller Will Plead Guilty To Unlawful Trespassing
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Miller is set to plead guilty in their ongoing felony burglary case but to a lesser charge of unlawful trespassing. The actor reportedly made a plea deal with prosecutors after previously pleading not guilty to charges of burglary and petit larceny in the Vermont Superior Court.
Miller was accused of breaking into a neighbor's home in Vermont to steal bottles of liquor but has since claimed the incident was just a misunderstanding. They will reportedly change their plea submission at a hearing coming up on Friday. Miller is best known for their roles as Credence in the "Fantastic Beasts" films and Flash in the DC Universe.
The Plea Deal Comes With A Suspended Sentence
NBC News also published some court documents from Miller's case, which reveal that the plea deal comes with a suspended sentence, a year's probation, and a $500 fine. If convicted of the initial felony burglary charges, Miller would have faced over 20 years of jail. The actor and their reps are yet to comment on the guilty plea and the plea deal.
In October 2022, Miller released a statement through their lawyer after submitting their not-guilty plea in the initial court hearings. The statement partly read, "Ezra would like to acknowledge the love and support they have received from their family and friends, who continue to be a vital presence in their ongoing mental health."
Ezra Miller Was Caught In A Streak Of Controversies
For most of 2022, Miller repeatedly made the news for their increasingly erratic behavior. They were accused of building a cult-like environment, grooming and acting inappropriately with multiple minors. They were also arrested at least twice in multiple countries, for offenses such as fighting and threatening violence.
A Rolling Stone exposè revealed that Miller was harboring a young mother and her three kids on their Vermont farm, where they also litter drugs and guns. The report included statements from insiders, who claimed one of the younger kids allegedly found a loose bullet around the farm and put it in her mouth.
Miller was also allegedly running a marijuana farm and cannabis company on the land where the kids also lived. The exposè partly read, "two sources also alleged that there have been frequent and heavy marijuana use in front of the children, with little concern about proper ventilation."
Ezra Apologized For Their Behavior, Is Receiving Help For 'Complex Mental Health Issues'
After the heavy negative pressure about Miller, Warner Bros, the studio producing the upcoming "The Flash" movie, held an emergency meeting to determine whether or not to proceed with the film. With rumors spreading that the studio could terminate, Miller quickly got their act together, starting with an apology statement to the public.
In the statement, the "Justice League" star apologized for their troubling behavior over recent months and revealed they'd begin receiving treatment for "complex mental health issues." The statement also read, "I want to apologize to everyone that I've alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life."
