Cleveland Cavaliers Star Donovan Mitchell Reunites With Young Jazz Fan During First Return To Utah

Cleveland Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell was greeted with open arms by one of his young fans during his first return to his old stomping grounds in Utah.

For five years, young Utah Jazz fan Josh waited for his favorite player at the arena during home games, but after being traded to the Cavaliers, that sadly came to an end. For the first time since being traded, Mitchell returned to Utah for a game against his old team and was greeted with happy tears by his superfan Josh.

Josh shared the emotional encounter on his Instagram page with a photo and video. The NBA took notice of the photo he shared and liked it. And of course, Mitchell also took to social media to share the wholesome news.

"Donovan Mitchell proving yet again that he's not just a baller on the court, but an inspiration off it. Cementing his legacy as a true icon of the game. A real man of the people," one of Mitchell's Twitter followers responded to his tweet. "More than just sports," wrote another. And another follower added, "Special I hope you stay in touch with this young kid. You will change his life."

Bleacher Report reposted the sweet reunion on their Instagram page captioned, "This young Jazz fan and Spida reunited yesterday ? Too wholesome." The repost received more than 150k likes in less than a day and tons of heartfelt comments.

Many fans left comments about what a great person Mitchell is. "Y’all remember when a kid asked Spida for his headphones and he just straight up gave it to him. His parents taught him well," one follower wrote. Not only has his kind nature off the court been heavily talked about, but so has his action on the court. Mitchell recently celebrated a career night when he dropped 71 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists against the Chicago Bulls. Not only was it a career-high for Mitchell but also the most points by an NBA player since Kobe Bryant's 81-point game in 2006.
