A Professional Singer

For their debut performance, Popcorn instantly proved that they were a well-trained vocalist and sang P!nks "What About Us."

This week, they performed Harry Styles' single "Falling" and continued to wow the panel with their amazing voice.

In their first clue package, Popcorn stated to get where they are today, they had to work long nights and rush from one job to the next. The visual at the beginning also hinted that they are from New York City. A plate of meatloaf was shown next to a bitten apple, a snake, and a card that said "welcome to the 'hood." A goldfish with large hoop earrings also appeared in another frame.

Who The Panel Have Guessed

After their first appearance on the show, McCarthy guessed living legend Tina Turner but went with "Ugly Betty" actress Vanessa Williams this time.

Guest panelistJoel McHale initially went with Dionne Warwick but didn't realize she was a part of the last season. He changed up his guess and said Gloria Gaynor as there was a "I Will Survive" reference, and she is considered a gay icon.

As always, Ken Jeong went for a wild guess and assumed Popcorn was singer Katy Perry because she is known for dressing up in wild costumes.

The panel is right to think that Popcorn is a well-known female singer. However, they haven't been able to identify them with the correct star.

With all the information given about popcorn, all the clues add up to "Tell It To My Heart" hitmaker Taylor Dayne

As revealed in a YouTube video, Dayne is from New York. The goldfish with hoop earrings is a nod to the '80s era, which is the decade she debuted onto the music scene. She has a single titled "Don't Rush," which links to Popcorn saying they that had to rush from job to the next.

The snake and apple is a reference to a song Dayne has called "Original Sin." A plate of meatloaf was pictured on the same table because musician Meatloaf covered the same track for his album "Welcome to the Neighbourhood."

As for the rainbow flag, Dayne is considered an icon for the LGBTQ+ community. She was known for her signature crinkled hair when she rose to fame, which is why a hair crimper was included.

According to NY Post, Dayne suffered from physical and mental health problems as a child, which was mentioned in Popcorn's most recent clue package.

Fans On Social Media Have Also Figured It Out

It seems that fans of the show have been doing their research too and also believe Dayne is underneath the mask.

"#TheMaskedSinger : Popcorn is Taylor Dayne...clue today of the LGBT flag- in 2014 she said the LGBT was her loyal fan base," one user wrote.

"The one contestant I’m pretty sure I know is Popcorn!! I’m an 80’s kid and that voice is Taylor Dayne!! #TheMaskedSinger," another person shared.

"You cannot convince me the popcorn from The masked singer isn't Taylor Dayne," remarked a third account.
