Tory Lanez Faces 22 YEARS In Prison After Being Charged With Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

Rapper Tory Lanez was just charged in the shooting of Megan The Stallion and he is now facing 22 YEARS in prison if convicted of the crime.
According to the Los Angeles District Attorney, Tory Lanez (real name: Daystar Peterson) was just charged with assaulting Megan Thee Stallion including being accused of shooting the 'WAP' rapper which landed her in an L.A. hospital with gunshot wounds to her feet.
The rapper was charged with one felony of "assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle."

Tory is also facing an allegation that he personally used the firearm to "inflict great bodily injury."
According to the DA, the rap star allegedly got into a verbal altercation with the 24-year-old victim, Megan Thee Stallion, while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. They claim that when "the victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her."

According to prosecutors, "If convicted as charged, the (Tory Lanez) faces a possible maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months in state prison.
Interestingly, the LADA claims the case is still under investigation by the LAPD, and things could change based on any more information that is gathered.
As we reported, Tory took major heat for releasing an album with tracks describing the shooting, instead of apologizing or telling his side of the story the incident. Lanez broke his silence to explain his actions, and why he released the music on this specific date.

"9/25 my mother's birthday, the day she passed away, the day the album dropped #daystar," Tory wrote on IG.
The statement came after the rapper received tons of criticism for dropping the album.
"Tory Lanez chose September 25th to release Daystar on the anniversary of the day his mother, Luella Peterson died-which was also her birthday. A portion of profits from the album will be donated to organizations supporting women, children, and victims of violence as well as the Breonna Taylor Foundation," a representative for the rapper said at the time.
Tory Lanez is due in court to face the charges on October 13, at this point Megan Thee Stallion has not commented on the charges.
