The influencer became famous for embracing her body and proving to the social media trolls that you don’t have to be skinny to have a fashion sense and actually fit into flattering clothes for a bigger body type.

The 27-year-old has seen the conversation around Ozempic and visited the "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast to discuss how the drug entered her life and what its trendy following has taught her.

Full disclosure, Remi isn’t impressed with the number of celebrities who allegedly use the drug to stay skinny and while she is no longer on the drug, it had a shocking lasting effect on her.

The drug has become a necessity for the content creator after her doctor had informed her that she was pre-diabetic, still gaining weight, and insulin resistant, as she said, she has “actual health issues.”

The drug that is FDA-approved and taken via injections in the stomach or arm was initially made for people battling Type II diabetes. It stimulates insulin production and shuts off those brain receptors that are constantly nagging someone who binge eats like Remi to overeat.

Unfortunately, for Remi, the medication wasn’t something that she was willing to keep up with long term simply because she saw some red flags within herself that that medication had triggered.

The drug, at the beginning for Remi, was fresh off of being approved by the FDA and she was told but a physician, “They said I need this,” she recalls the conversation. “And I had a lot of mixed feelings.”

Ultimately, Remi decided to give it a try and it was a ‘no’ for her, and coming off the drug was rough for the body-positive influencer. “A few months later I went off it and got into the bad binging.”

Bad enough for her to seek advice from a medical doctor. The doc dropped a bombshell on her about Ozempic. The drug was the cause of her binge. “I saw a doctor and they were like, it's 100% because I went on Ozempic,” she tells host Amanda Hirsch.

Bader explained further. “It was making me think I wasn't hungry for so long, I lost some weight. I didn't wanna be obsessed with being on it long-term. I was like, I bet the second I got off I'm gonna get starving again. I did, and my binging got so much worse. So then I kind of blamed Ozempic.”

After all of that, Bader admits, she gained back all the weight she lost. In fact, she “gained double the weight back” and ultimately, she believes that the drug should only be used by diabetics after the experience she had.

Just because Remi left the drug in her past doesn’t mean that all those alleged celebs that use the drug or the diabetics have given up on it. Ozempic is “currently on shortage” per the FDA’s website.
