Meghan King is counting her losses as she reflects on memories of the past. The TV personality opened up to her fans via her Instagram page about a topic that brought great sadness to her.

King informed them that she mourned the loss of having her former family together. It would be recalled that the 38-year-old split from her second husband, Jim Edmonds, in 2019 after accusing the retired baseball player of having an affair with their nanny at the time of their breakup.

Meghan King Grieves For The Family She's 'Lost'

The "Real Housewives Of Orange County" alum showed courage and strength after admitting that she missed the family she once had. Taking to Instagram, King posted a throwback picture of herself and her daughter, Aspen, when she was still a baby. The mom of three looked joyous and ecstatic in the picture.

Donning a black and white checkered shirt and wearing a pair of sunglasses, the blond beauty happily carried her then-baby daughter in the air and stared at her with admiration and immense love.

Opening up about the post in her caption, she wrote, "Sometimes looking back on photos like this one, I think about the ignorant happiness I felt. In this moment, I had no idea things would be the way they are today."

She continued by revealing the bitterness she felt in the present, writing, "I envy others with nuclear families, and I mourn the one I lost. I'm the happiest and wisest and most powerful I've ever been, but at a very steep price."

She, however, noted that she was grateful to have experienced having a nuclear family and advised her fans, adding, "What you define as happiness doesn't define another's. Grace, my friends. Grace is the greatest gift you can give yourself and one another. I love you."

Fans immediately rushed to the comment section to throw in their support for the TV personality and encourage her with their words. 

One wrote, "I feel you. I always feel that. You don't miss him, you miss the simplicity of believing it was forever and having to not be at war over their souls. ❤" To which King replied, "Bingo. And the peace that comes with security."

Another wrote, "So true. You can't let others define your happiness otherwise, it would just be their happiness 🥰." A third affirmed, "Better to be on your own, and know it's all yours and you can be happy versus being w [Sic] someone who doesn't treat you right." A concerned fan comforted King and wrote, "Nuclear doesn't mean normal! 👏"

King Made A Significant Decision For Her Children In 2023

The reality star, who has chosen to embrace the challenges the world has thrown at her and turn her lemons into lemonade, began the new year making some major decisions.

Per The Blast, the "RHOC" alum announced her decision to keep her children's faces out of social media. Opening up about her decision in her "Burn Baby Burn" blog post linked in her bio, she revealed, "This year, my personal life was ravaged with more of the same. The family court system is broken as hell, and 2022 was another glaring reminder."

Disclosing that her children's images were used against her as an intimidation tactic, she declared, "the thought of using the images of my innocent children to attempt hurt their mother is… I don’t know if there’s a word to describe the depth of the disgust that incites inside me. But I am lucky here, I have complete legal control over the use of their images, and I’m putting an end to that."

King also noted that her three children are individuals who should be given the chance to decide if they want to be on social media. "No more showing my kids' faces. No more filters, ever," she vowed. 

The Missouri Native Detailed How She Celebrated Christmas As A Single Mom Of Three

King never shies away from opening up about her love life or family life to her community. The doting mom expressed her true feelings about the festive period and how she ensured she catered to the needs of her three kids as a single mother. 

Per The Blast, King shared how she spent the Christmas celebration with her three kids, Aspen, Hart, and Hayes and her reinvention of Christmas day to be 26th instead of 25th.

She posted a reel on her Instagram page and revealed that since becoming a single mother, she's had to give herself presents for Christmas so as not to ruin the Santa gifting tradition for her kids.

She wrote in the caption, "Thinking I'm killing it, and then I realize I'm a single mom, and there's literally going to be nothing in my stocking tomorrow, and the kids will know, and Christmas will be ruined."

She, however found a solution to this problem by gathering her old beauty products to fill her empty Christmas stockings.
