Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan might be spending more time in prison.
After getting found out and arrested in Romania in December on charges of human trafficking and rape and having their luxury cars seized, they have not been able to catch a break. Now, it seems things will get a lot worse for them as their appeal to be released from detention was denied by the presiding judge over their case.
Andrew Tate And Brother Tristan Set To Spend More Time In Detention After Being Denied
The pair arrived handcuffed, with Andrew carrying a Qur'an at Bucharest's Court of Appeal, where a Romanian judge chose to uphold their 30-day detention. Under investigation for human trafficking, organized crime, and rape, they were arrested alongside two other women considered accomplices.
Per BuzzFeed, the four of them have been in pretrial detention for 12 days since December 29th due to a judge extending the arrest period from 24 hours to 30 days. The misogynistic influencer and his brother tried to appeal against the judge's decision by presenting arguments, including the surprising fact that they have little children in the country.
Unfortunately, the judge disagreed, stating that the duo might try to evade the investigations by leaving Romania for other countries that do not allow extradition. The brothers, since their arrest, have been denying all accusations against them.
The Muslim book held by Andrew has also caused some debate on Twitter, with some users commending him and others expressing doubtful opinions. A fan who posted pictures of the bothers and female accomplices being escorted into the courthouse commented on the holy book in the 36-year-old's hand.
He wrote, "Free the Tates. MashAllah brother @Cobratate walking with the Holy Quran in his hands. May Allah protect them. #FreeTopG #AndrewTate #TristanTate." Another user responded, writing, "Through history, the Quran is the only thing that strengths [sic] a man inside jail! May Allah help him."
On the other hand, a user who was against it wrote, "Why the Quran?? Can he just not bring the Quran into his issues? That book is holy to us!" Another noted, "Putting the holy Qur'an next to the guy who runs a Webcam for profit 🤡"
Last week it was reported that after the Romanian authorities made their arrest, it did not take long for them to go after the podcaster's luxury cars. The Blast shared that they lost eleven of their cars after being raided.
A rep for Romania's DIICOT investigations agency, Ramona Bolla, confirmed the news while explaining that the vehicles were impounded to "sustain the cost of the investigation" into the star. She added that it would be used as collateral to fund any payments awarded to the brothers' alleged victims.
While Bolla could not confirm to Insider the particular make and model of the cars, a Romanian news publication released images they claimed were the seized cars. The list included an Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate, Bugatti Chiron, and a Rolls Royce Wraith.
Greta Thunberg Speaks Up After Indirectly Influencing The 'Big Brother' Alum's Arrest
Fans will recall that the drama began when Andrew trolled the environmental activist by bragging about the 33 cars he claimed to own. He wrote, "Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions," to which she responded:
"yes, please do enlighten me. Email me at smalld**kenergy@getalife.com."
This fueled the internet celeb's anger causing him to retort by sharing a clip of himself berating the 20-year-old while eating a pizza and smoking a cigar. The Blast noted that the pizza box came from a local chain that helped to alert the Romanian authorities of his whereabouts, leading to his arrest.
Thunberg then took another swipe at the influencer after he was put behind bars in a tweet, "this is what happens when you don't recycle your pizza boxes." This led other users to respond to her with equally hilarious tweets like, "You took 33 cars off the road with one tweet. Respect."
One person tweeted, "Greta, I don't think the planet can handle anymore [sic] burning." While someone else wrote, "Frantically googling how to nominate someone for Nobel prize for a second time."
