Kody Brown And Meri Brown Break Silence On The 'Termination' Of Their Marriage

Kody Brown And Meri Brown have officially revealed that they are no longer together.

The pair shared in separate Instagram posts a joint statement that confirmed their separation following an unauthorized press release by People magazine.

The statement from the duo revealed that they are "committed" to resolving family issues that had arisen within the family before and after their separation.

Meri also shared in her post that she did not want any "congratulations" and asked fans to be considerate with their comments. Kody and Meri's separation comes after another "sister wife, "Janelle Brown, ended her "spiritual union" with the patriarch.

Taking to Instagram, Kody officially informed his followers that he and Meri were ending their "spiritual union" after being together for over a decade.

 "After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship." a joint statement from Kody and Meri read, following an earlier unapproved press release by People saying the pair had separated.

The patriarch also appeared to hint that the separation was mutual and that they both planned to work towards resolving issues that had strained the relationship between the members of the polygamous family.

He added, "During this process, we are committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all members of our family, and we are also committed to the continued healing of any and all relationships within the family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace, and love."

Meri also shared the same post on her Instagram page, confirming to her followers that her spiritual ties to Kody have been severed.

However, while Kody's post had no caption to express any further thoughts from him, Meri's own was filled with a lot more information.

"There is so much more to be told about this story, and I assure you, my truth will be told. But for now, know that there is peace in my heart," the reality star penned in the caption of her post.

Meri also urged her followers to be "considerate" about the kind of comments they might want to share concerning her split, adding that she wanted no "congratulations."

She ended the post on a note of positivity about the new year for herself and her fans. Meri penned, "[I] look forward to stepping into 2023 and my future with grace, kindness and power. Step into kindness with me. Put positive energy out into the world. Worthy Up!"

In the post's comment section, Meri's fans wished her the best as she started a new journey as a single mother.

"I wish you nothing but the best. I hope you find true peace and happiness," one fan said.

Another follower wrote, "I'm shedding a tear or two. I always hoped it would work itself out, but we all play the hand we are dealt, and you will not falter. Go now and please enjoy maki g a new life. You are an amazing woman."

A different follower urged Meri to apologize to her former sister's wife, Christine Brown. The pair had gotten in each other's faces several times after Christine announced she was ending her spiritual union with Kody in 2021.

The fan said, "Now you can apologize to Christine for your cruel treatment after she said she was leaving the family."

Another sister's wife, Janelle Brown, ended her union with Kody prior to his recent split from Meri. She revealed the decision in a December 18 TLC tell-all episode, saying they have been separated for months.

"I think if we both really sat down, we'd look at each other and say, 'Really?'" Janelle said, per US Weekly. "We've been separated for several months."

At the time, Kody, who was also featured in the episode, confirmed the separation, saying, "Yes, we are separated." 

Additionally, he said there was no use in trying to repair their troubled relationship as Janelle was "enjoying" being single. He added, "Janelle has pretty well made it apparent to me that she's enjoying her life without me."
