Fans Slam Victoria Beckham For 'Passive Aggressive' Bday Message To DIL Nicola Peltz

Victoria Beckham is damned if she does and damned if she doesn't when it comes to her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham.

it is no news that since Nicola and the Beckhams' oldest son Brooklyn Beckham tied the knot in April 2022, rumors have swirled that the former Spice Girls member is at odds with her daughter-in-law. While neither party has denied or confirmed the speculations, fans can't help but notice the tension between both women on social media.

Such was the case on January 9, when Nicola celebrated her 28th birthday, and Victoria gave her a shoutout which fans deemed unacceptable.

For the "Bates Motel" star's big day, her mother-in-law did the unusual and took to her Instagram to mark the milestone. The renowned British fashion designer shared a playful photo of her and Nicola that showed them sitting at a dining table next to each other.

Both women had a giant wine glass between them and several meal bowls around them, indicating that they were enjoying a feast. However, it was their body language that drew the most attention. Unlike reports that depicted Nicola and Victoria as enemies, the reverse seemed to be the case.

Both famous women had their hand covering their mouths as they shared a laugh and looked slyly at the camera, seeming as though they were enjoying a little gossip. Posh Spice, as Victoria is fondly known, stunned in a simple black dress that flaunted her toned figure and featured a deep plunging neckline.

Her brunette hair was styled into a low ponytail, and her right elbow was propped on the table while she rocked subtle makeup. Nicola, on the other hand, donned a stylish halter yellow dress with ruffles and let her blonde hair flow loosely with a center parting.

The "Transformers" actress firmly planted her hand on her mouth, covering about half of her face. She kept her accessories to a minimum while squinting at the camera. "Happy Birthday @NicolaAnnePeltzBeckham ? Hope you have a lovely day!!! X," Victoria captioned the post, to which the birthday girl replied, "Thank you so much! ???."

While Victoria's post should be taken as a sweet gesture, given that she rarely posts about her daughter-in-law. Fans weren't convinced it was done in good faith and pointed out how the "Project Runway" judge tried to sabotage the celebrant with the post.

Many believed that the mother-of-four chose a picture in which she looked more flattering than Nicola, while others suggested the birthday message conveyed no emotion.
