The "Senorita" singer ditched his trademark short wavy curls in favor of a buzz cut and was recently seen leaving a Los Angeles cafe on Saturday, January 7.
Mendes was dressed in a light gray sweater over a white T-shirt and rocked navy pants with his black Calvin Klein boxers peeking through. The pop star finished off his look with a cute grey scarf wrapped loosely around his neck.
In an Instagram video that he shared on a hiking trip with friends last Christmas, Mendes, 24, was last seen sporting his signature hairdo. The singer, in the clip, stripped down to his boxers as he plunged into the freezing river, a popular winter dare known as the polar bear plunge.

Shawn Mendes Canceled The Remaining Of His 2022 Tour
Mendes' new look comes after the singer decided to cancel his 2022 Wonder World Tour on the advice of his doctors.
"As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn't totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me," Mendes posted on his Twitter and Instagram pages.
"I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away," he continued.

The singer pointed out that after speaking with his team and health professionals at the time, it became clear that he needed to "ground" himself and "come back stronger than ever."
"This doesn't mean I won't be making new music, and I can't wait to see you on tour in the future," he added. "I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I've taken the right time to heal."
He concluded his message by showing appreciation to his fans for their support and for "sticking" by him on his journey.
Shawn Mendes Opened Up On His Mental Health Journey
Months after he canceled his tour, Mendes opened up about the difficult decision he had to take to better focus on his mental health.
According to TMZ, Mendes said at the time that he was taking things easy and getting some therapy.
"I'm taking a lot of time just doing therapy, just taking it easy, man," he said.
Additionally, he revealed to the news outlet that he has been spending more time with friends and family, which is something he typically finds difficult to do due to his regular busy schedule.
"I think for me it's just about spending time doing things that I haven't really done over the last few years, and so having dinner with friends and stuff," he said.
