Jane Fonda's 'Knees Actually Got Weak'
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the Friday premiere of "80 for Brady" in Palm Springs, California, Fonda opened up about how she felt when she first encountered Brady during the film's production.
The pair co-starred in the 2023 comedy movie directed by Marvin, co-written by Sarah Haskins and Emily Halpern, and co-produced by Brady and Donna Gigliotti.
"My knees actually got weak when he walked into my trailer," Fonda said, recalling her reaction at the time, per Insider.
Explaining further, the activist shared that Brady's immense talent on the field of play, which he has put on display for years, led to her being "completely starstruck" by the sight of him.
She added, "I'm in awe of that kind of skill. When somebody is the best in the world at what they do, you have to honor that and respect it. I was just awestruck."
Tom Brady 'Was Kind And Humble'
The two-time Oscar winner also shared that her co-star displayed an unbelievable level of meekness despite having all the reasons not to do so due to his high-profile status.
Fonda continued. "He was kind and humble, which is hard to believe considering how brilliant he is at what he does, but it's true. He was also sweet and polite."
In the film, she played the character Trish, while Brady portrayed himself.
Brady, who could not attend Friday's premiere due to being involved in Tampa Bay Buccaneers' preparation for the NFL playoffs, also had sweet words to say about his co-star, per Insider.
"We found the most amazing actresses," Brady said during a previous interview with the outlet, in which he also complimented the other female stars, Tomlin, Moreno, and Field.
"Lily, Jane, Rita, and Sally. They brought it all to life. At the end of the day, watching them act and watching them perform was so cool."
Director Kyle Marvin Called Tom Brady A 'Great Guy'
At the height of the filming process for the comedy movie, Marvin spoke with Entertainment Tonight about his on-set relationship with the seven-time Super Bowl winner.
"He is just a great guy. You know, he is just the best. Whether you hate him or love him as a football player, he is a great human being," the director said, adding "he really does" have a great sense of humor.
Like Brady, he shared that Fonda, Tomlin, Moreno, and Field were quite adept at the roles they portrayed in the film.
"It's awesome," Marvin said. "They are the best, and everyone is so good at what they do. I mean, those women are just the best, so getting to play with them is a dream come true."
'80 For Brady'
"80 for Brady" follows the journey of four close female friends, who took a wild trip to Super Bowl LI in 2017 to watch their quarterback idol, Brady, play in person.
As they negotiate the untamed surroundings of the country's greatest athletic event, chaos breaks out, and they must figure out how to fulfill their desire.
In February 2022, it was confirmed by Paramount pictures that Brady would star and produce in the movie. At the time, it was also revealed that Tomlin, Fonda, Moreno, and Field had joined the cast to play the main characters.
A month later, Bob Balaban, Ron Funches, Sara Gilbert, Glynn Turman, Jimmy O. Yang, and Harry Hamlin were added to the cast. Billy Porter, Guy Fieri, Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola, and Julian Edelman were later added.
Filming began in March 2022 and wrapped up in June of the same year. It is now set to debut in theaters in February 2023.
