Carrie Underwood has sparked a wave of complaints on her Instagram as a visit to Target showed her wearing a face mask. The 37-year-old country singer and 2005 "American Idol" winner has been big-time ramping up the promo for her very first Christmas album – "My Gift" comes with Carrie surrounded by snow and in a strapless red gown for its cover, also featuring vocals from 5-year-old son Isaiah.

Carrie stopped by her local Target yesterday to pose with a copy of "My Gift." The "Southbound" singer likely didn't expect to be served up shade. Check it out below.

Scroll for the photo. It showed Carrie at Target and proudly holding a copy of the 10-track album, with the mom of two looking super-stylish as she posed in a pretty ordinary setting. Carrie, now running a fitness empire via her 2015-founded CALIA by Carrie clothing brand, her "Find Your Path" book, and the Fit52 App, was looking super-slim. She posed in tight, high-waisted jeans, a black floral top showing her killer waist, plus a sparkly black face mask.

Of course, Carrie was also holding red Target basket as she shot the camera a smile from behind the mask.

Carrie captioned her photo: "As per tradition, had to go buy the CD at the store! As not per tradition, I had to wear a mask! I promise I’m smiling, though! @Target #2020Man #MyGift ?✨"

Responses have proven very mixed indeed. While countless fans were pumped for Carrie's first ever Xmas release, others went straight for the pandemic talk.

"I don't wear mine to Target and neither do the employees. So happy to live in a Red state ?," one fan exclaimed.

Another user, meanwhile, challenged the singer, writing: "Why did you have to wear a mask? Football players and politicians don't. You aren't special and iconic enough to express your civil liberties?"

"Please take the mask off! I have NOT worn one a single day," a third angrily wrote.

Carrie and 2010-married husband Mike Fisher have been vocal amid the pandemic. Back in April, the couple delivered a home-set PSA encouraging fans to social distance and stay safe. The couple is raising 5-year-old Isaiah alongside infant and 1-year-old Jacob. More after the video.

It wasn't all one way with this photo. Fans, by the masses, came to back Underwood, although the slamming comments did garner many likes.

"I live in a VERY Republican state," one user fired back, adding:

"Masks are required here. What’s your point, Ashley? That masks are now a “political” thing? It isn’t about politics. It’s about not wanting to get sick and/or die. I have a three year old nephew, and I don’t want to get him sick, because I love him! "
