Medders’ father is currently fighting for his life after being diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), and her mother is his full-time caregiver.

Julie likened her situation to Medders’ mother in the sense that they will both be “losing” their husbands.

However, Julie will only be losing hers temporarily while Medders’ mother will lose hers completely at some point.

“There is that possibility of my husband and I being separated,” Julie said. “But there’s a difference between my husband and I being separated for a period of time and having to say goodbye forever."

She continued to explain, “It almost makes me feel ashamed that I’m even worried. Unless the good Lord intervenes, [your mom is] going to have to say goodbye to her husband and she won’t see him again this side of heaven.”

Furthermore, the reality TV star is relying heavily on her faith to prepare her to enter prison.

You're Lying If You Say "I Don't Have Any Worries Or Concerns"

“Whatever you’re going through, because everybody is going through something. I don’t care who you are. If you’re listening to this podcast and you say, ‘My life’s perfect. I don’t have any worries. I don’t have any concerns, I don’t have any…’ you’re lying,” she said.

Medders added, “There will always be another season of hardship and difficulties.”

This set Julie’s soul on fire so much so that she recited a sermon she had recently listened to.

“It’s so easy for us to forget the dark season when we’re flying high,” she explained. “God has not promised you smooth sailing, but he’s promised you a safe landing.”

This quote had a profound effect on Julie.

“That resonated so much with me. He didn’t promise us smooth sailing, but he promised that if we put our faith in him that we will have a safe landing,” Julie noted. “Doesn’t mean it might be bumpy, doesn’t mean we might not get scarred along the way, but eventually we will have a safe landing.”

It's Okay Not To Be Okay

Despite facing several years behind bars, Julie admitted “it’s ok not to be ok.”

“As the New Year has approached, I hope you will realize that it’s okay to not be okay. That you take the time, this is January, that you will start the year off positively and knowing even if it’s the darkest season you’ve ever experienced, that you keep the faith that the season’s not going to last forever,” she said.

Next week, Todd and Chase will sit down for a tell-all interview on their “Chrisley Confessions” podcast, and they’ve promised nothing is off limits.
