The fans of live morning television are a fickle bunch, because days after they were praising Kelly Ripa for holding down the show while Ryan Seacrest stayed home sick, they are now roasting the television star for complaining about showing up to work on Monday. The action went down early Monday morning in NYC as Seacrest made his triumphant return to "LIVE with Kelly and Ryan." The host of "American Idol" had been out for two days last week after coming down with a sore throat.

LIVE With Kelly and Ryan

After a weekend full of rest and relaxation, Ryan Seacrest was shot out of a cannon as he made his way down the hall at ABC Studios in NYC. As Seacrest strode down the hall in an all-blue suit, Ripa was seen trudging behind her co-host shaking her head and letting out an audible sigh.

Instead of feeling some empathy for the TV star after pulling double-duty last week, fans were ripping into her for not being more excited to be back at work.

"Spare us the drama," one fan wrote, while another labeled Ripa a "Drama queen."

"Looks like you hate your job Kelly," a third person wrote.

Another critic suggested, "Kelly: We love you. But PLEASE let Ryan talk. Thanks."

A few people were miffed that Kelly AND Ryan both didn't acknowledge the famed coffee man near the studio.

"I don't like it when they walk by him and act like he isn't even there!!" a coffee sympathizer proclaimed.

While many were giving Kelly Ripa a hard time, it was clear in the opening segment what was affecting her mood.

Like millions of Americans, Kelly Ripa was devastated with the death of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg. RBG passed away on Friday, September 18 at the age of 87 after battling metastatic pancreas cancer. Her death was announced by the Supreme Court and instantly caused the country to go into a state of mourning.

Ripa joined the countless social media tributes to RBG, with the TV host declaring, "The right kind of notorious. What a loss."

On Monday Morning, Ripa admitted she cried all weekend over the death of RBG, and once again gave an emotional tribute to Ginsburg's longtime fight for gender equality, women's interests, and civil rights and liberties.

Many fans were thankful for the words, but as many political issues have become, others mocked Ripa for her tribute.

"So Kelly, you cried all weekend over Ginsburg?? You my friend are a head case,' one Twitter critic wrote.

Luckily, the response to RBG was generally positive, with comments like, "THANK YOU Kelly for putting into words the way so many women are feeling today. I am glad I lived & worked in a time with RBG on our lands Supreme Court. May we be so blessed to have many more justices like HER!"
