Dove Cameron up at 5 a.m. and "filling my belly with lemon water" is something the 24-year-old actress has admitted she'd love to say she does – the reality is more getting up anywhere between 8 a.m. and noon.
Following her recent Zoom date with Byrdie, the "Descendants" star and singer has been getting honest on Instagram, with her Sunday night update proving raw and real. Dove, an anorexia nervosa survivor, talked having aspects of her that are "ugly." Likewise, of her anxiety. Check it out below.

Scroll for the photo accompanying a lengthy and very vulnerable caption. Dove, followed by 37.5 million on her IG, had posted a nine-photo cube forming a collage. The images showed the former Disney star in candid bed moments and amid white linens, also matching the furnishings while clad in a strappy white crop top. The pared-down vibe was a far cry from the strapless, bold red Oscar de la Renta dress Cameron was recently seen in.
"There’s something inherently dishonest feeling about photographing sad moments," the caption began.

Keep scrolling for the photo, plus more snaps. Much like the Zoom date, which saw Dove call herself "really, really bad" for waking up so late, the Sunday post saw the blonde berate herself, but it also voiced a sentiment that's growing amid celebrity Instagram. Quite simply, that the Insta-perfect life might not be all it's cracked up to be.
"In an age where we photograph everything, all the time, and only ever show the things that make us look like we are living the ideal life, where does that leave us?"

Dove, who opened up about her anorexia in 2018 and in 2020 saw fans worried about her bikini body, tapped into another mental health issue.
"I have struggled with depression for more than half my life. my anxiety is unmanageable and never gives me a moment of rest," she wrote, also calling her anxiety "unmanageable." Dove, admitting that having "less of a following" might actually help her, also wondered if her fame and image limit her: "The quieter my reality gets," she added of her high profile.

The caption also reached out to others in the hope they would feel "less alone." Dove concluded by admitting she was afraid she didn't "belong," going as far as suggesting that "the things in me are ugly."
Dove, who continues to mourn the loss of "Descendants" co-star Cameron Boyce, now sees fans flooding the comments section with love. Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt told Dove that "Who you are is everything." 22-year-old Bella Thorne left a like, with countless others calling Dove everything from "inspiring" to a "perfect being."
