Anne Heche's son, Homer Heche Laffoon, is continuing his late mother's legacy months after she passed away.

The eldest son of the late actress, whom she shares with her ex-husband Coleman Laffoon, is getting ready to launch her second set of memoirs while still coming to terms with her passing. He recently gave fans details of the upcoming book's release and appreciated them for their affectionate comments on social media.

Laffoon appears not to be letting his mother's death stop him from doing great things for her. To that end, the 20-year-old announced Thursday that the memoir, written by Heche before her death, will be published posthumously in the near future.

Posting on the "Spread" star's behalf, Laffoon gave fans a peek at the cover of the upcoming book — "Call Me Anne" — and a heartfelt message of gratitude for the show of support and love he has received in the wake of his mother's passing.

"Hi Everybody, Homer here. Never imagined I'd find myself responsible for mom's IG account, but here we are," he began in the lengthy Instagram caption. He expressed that "the amount of love, care and support shown" by people on social media and in real life "has been overwhelming and blessedly received" before revealing:

"One day at a time is working for me, as I'm sure the healing journey will be a long one. Your good thoughts and well wishes will continue to comfort me on my path."

Laffoon explained that since he was posting on his mother's account, he had "a responsibility to share with her community what she was working on and how excited she would have been to tell you herself."

Adding that the book was "the product" of Heche's "further efforts to share her story and to help others where she could," the California native divulged:

"Call Me Anne is the result, and I know she was excited to share with the world. So, mom, here I am sharing it with the community you created, may it flourish and take on a life of it's [SIC] own, as you would have wanted."

Laffoon also informed fans that a celebration of life event was set to be held on January 24 at the Barnes & Noble bookstore at The Grove in Hollywood. The event will feature readings from the book that details the "Volcano" actress' sexual abuse as a child, her relationship with God and beloved TV host Ellen DeGeneres, and her self-love journey.

In a September report, The Blast shared that Heche also addressed her sexuality, writing that it would be easier to describe it as "alien" rather than straight or gay. In her words:

"I had never been with a woman before I dated Ellen. I did not, personally, identify as a lesbian. I simply fell in love! There were no words to describe how I felt. Gay didn't feel right, and neither did straight. Alien might be the best fit, I sometimes thought."

The late 53-year-old also explained that her actions confused loved ones just as they confused her, stating, "What, why, and how I fell in love with a person instead of their gender, I would have loved to have answered if anyone had asked, but as I said earlier, no one ever did. I am happy that I was able to tell you in this book — once and for all."

In case you missed it, DeGeneres and Heche were an iconic late 90s couple because they were the first openly lesbian couples in an industry still closed off to the LGBTQ community.

Laffoon Became The Appointed Administrator Of Heche's Estate Last Year

In October, The Blast noted that Laffoon had enjoyed legal favor when a fudge appointed him personal representative and administrator of his mom's estate. Legal docs disclosed that the court had granted "special powers" to the young man to control the "Call Me Crazy" author's estate.

Succinctly put, Laffoon now had the authority to "take possession of all the personal property of the estate of the decedent and preserve it from damage, waste, and injury."

He was awarded the rights to protect the profits in "the publication agreement" of Heche's soon-to-be-published memoir. Additionally, Laffoon can receive copies of the "Girl in Room 13" star's financial records and file personal tax returns as her rep.

You would recall that the multiple Emmy Awards winner was declared brain dead — the definition of death per California law — on August 12, one week after she was involved in a ghastly car accident.
