'Love Is Blind' Alum Jessica Batten Announces She's Pregnant!

Jessica Batten's new year is about to include a new baby! The "Love Is Blind" season 1 alum recently announced her exciting news with a carousel of photos on Instagram.

Batten, 38, shared photos of her and McGrath making a heart with their hands over her growing belly. "New Year, Same Me, New Mom! ?✨," the reality star announced on Instagram. "Sending the best wishes and blessings your way in 2023?✨ We’re excited and humbled to share we will welcome our baby into the world and into our growing family in early June ♥️ Ahh!!!"

Tons of congratulatory messages and well wishes filled the comment section of her big announcement. "Huge congrats to you two! This is the most wonderful news ❤️," one follower wrote. Another added, "Such a fairy tale ??❤️ so happy for you guys Jess! You are going to be a great mom what a blessing. ✨"

The new baby will be Batten's first child and McGrath's third, who is dad to daughter Poppy, 7, and son Ethan, 6, from a previous relationship. In October 2021, Batten opened up to PEOPLE about learning to be a parent to her then fiancé's two children. "It's been awesome and three for the price of one," she said. "I didn't know this would be in my future, but I couldn't imagine my life without them. They're so super special to me."

Being new to parenting, Batten looked to her therapist for some guidance in her new role. "I see her once a week - Ben sees her as well - and she's been super helpful for us," she explained. "I think it's important for individuals and all couples to normalize that."

Navigating her new life with children means sacrificing and it's something Batten said is "rewarding." "It's a lot of sacrifice, but it's so rewarding. After being by myself for so long, or just me and [my dog] Payton, now having them, it's just a whole different perspective," she said.

She also explained that she gets "more excited about the little things now." "We went on the train one time to a Padres game, and for me, that's not super exciting, but seeing them experiencing it for the first time, it's just a whole new level of excitement for me because I get to see them having that joy," she said.

The reality star wasn't able to find love on the Netflix show, but it did ultimately lead her to meeting McGrath, who reached out to her via Instagram after watching the show. In early March, the two met for a bike ride just before California went on lockdown during the pandemic. This began their romance, and they ended up tying the knot in late August 2022.

When the couple got engaged, they were already thinking about expanding their family. "We can't wait to start," Batten said. "I think we're going to have a very short engagement, and then, yeah, we're definitely [going to have] kids down the road. Whatever that looks like for us, whatever God blesses us with. I'm also open to adoption too, so we'll see what happens."
