The pro athlete collapsed after tackling Tee Higgins midway through the first quarter of the game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills. Fans of the sport can now breathe easy as the club he played for updated fans on his condition, which is looking promising.

Believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest, CPR was immediately performed on him for 10 minutes before being transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. A statement has been released by Buffalo Bills saying:
"per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours."
"While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal, and he is making steady progress," it continued. The message ended with the club thanking everyone for the love and support they received.
Comments from colleagues and followers flooded under the post, wishing a quick recovery to the star and sending him positive thoughts. One such comment read, "Let's go, Damar!!! We are all pulling for you and praying for you! ❤️"
A fan emotionally penned, "This is the best news. I don't know why but I cannot stop crying. I know he's still got a fight ahead of him, but this feels like the news we've all been praying for. ❤️"
Others called him a fighter, while some noted that it was prayers to God that saved the player. One such comment came from someone who wrote, "God is working because a nation fell to its knees. 🙏 As medical personnel, this is a miracle."
According to reports from TMZ, he is definitely stabilizing, even to the point of waking up and recognizing people. His uncle also noted that his lungs injured during the emergency were on the mend as per the doctors attending him.
Concern over how long Hamlin's brain went without oxygen when his heart stopped pumping was diffused as physicians stated that "he is neurologically intact." The news gripped the whole country tightly as even President Biden spoke on the sport and safety precautions.
Surrounded by pressmen, he was asked if he felt the NFL was dangerous. The President noted that it was not violent, but precautions would need to be taken, adding, "I think working on the helmets, the concussion protocols, that makes a lot of sense."
The Agency handling the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native also provided an update while thanking fans for the love shown. The Blast shared that his uncle Dorrian Glenn was present at the horrifying event. Speaking to CNN, the older man noted that Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice - on the field and at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Barely keeping it together, Dorrian said, "I'm not a crier, but I've never cried so hard in my life. Just to know, my nephew died on the field, and they brought him back to life."
