Lionel “Leo” Messi and team Argentina took the World Cup by storm.
So of course, where was MASSIVE cause for celebration, and it turns out one of Messi’s former teammates overindulged a little too much.
Argentina's World Cup Win Called For A PARTY!

Messi’s best friend and former teammate, Sergio Aguero, admitted that he got super drunk following their big W.
Sadly, the former Argentinian forward was not able to participate in playing at the World Cup this year due to a heart condition, which caused him to retire in December 2021.
Despite not being able to play, he did partake in the celebrations and partied so hard that Messi eventually got angry with him.

In an interview with Tyc Sports, Aguero explained that he chugged champagne straight from the bottle and ignored Messi’s advice to slow down the partying.
“I drank a lot but I didn't eat. We were world champions. If something were to happen to me, let it be there,” he said. “Leo [Messi] got angry and told me 'stop'. How [do I] stop? We are world champions, so happy.”
He also revealed the near catastrophic thing that happened to him during Aguero’s drunken celebrations.
The former soccer star lifted Messi up on his shoulders, which nearly sent him to the hospital.

“I lifted the best in the world. I moved my shoulders so that he would jump, but they started to get some stitches in my back,” he explained. “At one point I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't even turn around. If I turned around, I would end up in a hospital. He realized it because I looked at him, we exchanged glances. I said, 'All good, you're world champion, but my back hurts.' And there he got off.”

Argentina’s celebrations didn’t end in Qatar.
The party went on for days in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
“The boys wanted to take me with them to Argentina,” he noted. “They told me to hurry up because the plane was leaving, saying 'Come on, come on. Let's present the passport, everything.’”
Aguero WAS supposed to join his former teammates, but realized he had some family commitments HIS SON back in the apartment, and that kept him from partaking.

“I was leaving with the national team and then I remembered that I had my son in the apartment, I couldn't leave him lying around. I called Benja and told him I was going there. He was so primed that I forgot about everything,” Aguero admitted.
Here’s your daily reminder to never drink and parent!
Argentina took the victory over France in an intense penalty kick shoot-out after a full 90-minute game and 30+ minutes of extra time.
This was Messi’s first World Cup win and Argentina’s third World Cup win. The last time they took home the gold was in 1986.
