Jesy Nelson Is Creating In-Home Recording Studio

Nelson shared a video to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 4th, from her home. She is planning to turn a cute little nook area in the upper part of her home into a recording studio.

We couldn’t help but notice the HOARDS of Little Mix memorabilia on the way upstairs to the room where she will make the studio.

If you take a close look at the video, you’ll see a ton of framed posters from Little Mix’s different albums/eras and PR material stockpiled on the floor.

Nelson infamously left the British Girl group in December 2020 citing mental health concerns; however, just a few weeks into 2021 she announced her solo career.

Prior to dropping her solo EP, “Boyz featuring Nicki Minaj,” Nelson made the press rounds to promote the song.

Clearly, the promotion wasn’t able to help fans from hating the music video and accusing Nelson of “Blackfishing.”

However, throughout her press tour for ‘Boyz,’ the singer opened up about embarking on her solo career and her time away from Little Mix.

In 2021, Nelson admitted she found a new sense of self and told Glamour UK, “I’m hand-on-heart happy for the first time in years. I used to say I was – even up until recently – but not really feel it. Now I’m a 10 out of 10 happy – maybe nine out of 10 some days – but it’s just these past few months that I’ve actually felt it.”

As fans of Little Mix and Nelson know, she suffered major mental health issues and even attempted suicide in 2013 during her time in the girl group.

Nelson’s BBC documentary “Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out,” detailed her struggled with mental health, body image and the heartbreaking effects of cyberbullying.

To say the documentary was impactful is an understatement.

Touching on her newfound happiness with Glamour UK, Nelson said, “The main reason for that is because I've taken control over my life and I've looked after myself. That’s the most important thing you can do and that's what I've done.”

Her feelings were validated by her family and friends.

“I know this feeling is real because my mum sees it, my sister sees it. They’ve got Jesy back, the Jesy who disappeared for a decade and went down a black hole of misery and real mental health problems,” she admitted.

Despite her solo EP and accompanying music video debuting to crappy reviews, Nelson has been hard at work in the recording studio and dance studio.

She’s making new music and choreographing new moves for the RELAUNCH of her solo career.

As for her former bandmates, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall are all working on solo projects and Little Mix is currently on hiatus.

However, the three remaining members of the girl gang got together over the holidays.

This was the first time all three women were photographed together on social media since announcing their hiatus in May 2022.
