Selena Gomez has been a prominent topic in the tabloids this week! The 28-year-old “Hands To Myself” singer was featured in the headlines yesterday after sharing how her dating life is a lot less active as some thought and reveals how her exes think she’s “crazy”.
The “Come And Get It” singer is well known for her music and her past Disney Channel stardom, and rarely a week goes by without mentioning the fabulous Billboard topper.
Of course other highlights about Selena this week included her beauty product brand “Rare Beauty” and the release of her brand new single “Ice Cream” which has vocals from BLACKPINK.
Gomez’s recent popularity coincidentally happens to fall in line with a fellow Disney Channel actress Demi Lovato’s trending status. Demi just announced a collaboration with electronic artist Mashmello and how she’s engaged to marry a big Gomez fan, Max Ehrich.
Selena just posted on her social media revealing that she had a photo-shoot and interview with Allure. The result of that interview was simply phenomenal showing her wearing a variety of epic outfits and giving never before details about some of her previous albums.
When asked about what she felt was the biggest help in her career so far, Gomez shared the following:
“I think the female characters on Disney Channel have a lot of strength,” she explained. “And my comedic timing, my improv skills, everything I experienced made me a better actress.”
She went on to say that her successes didn’t come without difficulties though. She explained how she felt pressured to do things out of character at times.
This includes how she’s seen on the cover of her 2015 album Revival.
“I just did things that weren’t really me,” Gomez continued. “There was pressure to seem more adult on my album, Revival. [I felt] the need to show skin… I really don’t think I was [that] person.”
Interestingly, Gomez shared how empowering it was to launch her own beauty line and be an avid entertainer at the same time.
“I am in full control of my life and everything that I do, what is out there, everything,” she explained, noting, “So I would like to say, yes. I’m in charge of everything in my life.”
