Angela Simmons is basking in the love that Yo Gotti manifested for them!
The celeb couple rang in the year by confirming their relationship seven years after Gotti declared his love for Simmons in his hit 2015 single "Down in the DM." The businesswoman ensured she shared adorable photos over the weekend, reminding fans that patience eventually pays off.
Angela Simmons Goes IG Official With Her New Flame Yo Gotti
Although rumors about Simmons and Gotti being an item have been circulating for a while, the pair sure took their time confirming it. In fact, it was not until New Year's Eve that they dropped a slew of snaps from a recent photo shoot, affirming their involvement with each other.
Simmons kicked things off by sharing a post with three pictures that showed her and her new beau posing next to a black Rolls Royce in the first slide. A second image, which was snapped inside the luxury car, featured the sweet couple looking straight at the camera.
The third slide showed the Fashion Institute of Technology alum looking at her man as he helped her out of the car. Gotti appeared gentlemanly, holding an umbrella in one hand and his girlfriend's hand in the other.
In a follow-up update, the reality star uploaded a pic of the CMG rapper pouring some bubbly into her glass. The close-up shot highlighted the eye-catching bling on the businesswoman's wrists and fingers and the "Rake It Up" hitmaker's neck.
The bling went perfectly with the strapless sequin black dress and a pair of red-bottom Louboutin heels. Gotti perfectly matched his girl's style, donning an all-black velvet suit and shoes.
A look at the comment section revealed what people's thoughts were, with one person declaring, "2023 is going to be the year of HEALTHY LOVE!!!" before instructing men to "stop chasing them "boys/streets" & start claiming & loving YOUR QUEENS!"
"What I love about this the most is, he got you, but not immediately.! You didnt make it easy like most would have. Seemed to happen organically," another person observed.
A third person claimed, "This wedding is going to be beautiful! May God bless you both! Soulmates!!" and a fourth reiterated that "Patience is a virtue." A fifth fan excitedly penned, "HAPPY NEW YEAR ANGELA!!! MARRY GOTTI. HE A REAL ONE!!"
Gotti showed how real he was by posting a video that panned from the Rolls Royce to scanning Simmons's outfit from top to bottom. The clip, set to Lil Baby's "Forever," also showed the happy couple clinking their champagne flutes before taking a swig.
The "Put A Date On It" rapper even told his girlfriend, "Happy New Year, you're looking good," in the post, which he captioned, "Ain loss [SIC] a crush since High School." Just like Simmons' comment section, Gotti received an influx of compliments, well-wishes, and praise.
However, a few fans warned him to handle the 35-year-old's heart with care as one Instagram user admonished, "U bet not fumble the bag," and another pleaded, "Please don't let us down Gotti." It is worth noting that Simmons took down all her previous Instagram posts before going social media official with Gotti.
Simmons's Last Publicized Relationship With Her Baby Daddy Ended Badly
Fans are excited to see Simmons returning to the dating scene following the end of her engagement to — and subsequent murder of — her baby daddy, Sutton Tennyson. According to Essence, after announcing her engagement in April 2016, the "Growing Up Hip Hop" star confirmed that she was pregnant and was excited about expanding her family.
However, the couple soon ended their engagement, and Simmons focused on raising her son, Sutton Joseph, amid going through events that made her "stronger." Although she has since adjusted to being a mother, the "Pressure Makes Diamonds" alum still has moments of sadness and struggles.
In a confessional for the season four premiere of "Growing Up Hip-Hop," she admitted, "I just got to a place where I felt like I wasn't happy, and I tried, and I tried, and I tried, and I wanted it to work because the last thing I wanted to do was not be together with the person I had my child with."
She added that she had "done everything" she could during her relationship with Tennyson, even going as far as taking counseling classes. The then-30-year-old's life was even more dramatic because she welcomed a child out of wedlock. Luckily, she focused on being a good mom to Joseph, concluding:
"People are always going to have an opinion, and that's just not who I am. I'm not your opinion."
