Nick Cannon is focused on being healthy and a good father this New Year!
The actor has embraced fatherhood as he boasts 12 children from several baby mamas. His decision often leaves the public wondering what his plan is and at what number he intends to stop. When Andy Cohen asked him precisely that, he answered cheerfully with a surprising declaration.
Nick Cannon Shares Lack Of Plans For New Year Concerning Numerous Children
The American television host got into the subject of his expanding family on CNN's "New Year's Eve Live." During the live broadcast from Times Square, they discussed several things like vasectomies and New Year's resolutions.
Cohen jokingly asked the "Masked Singer" host if he had an end game concerning having kids, mainly because it looked like he was on a mission to "single-handedly repopulate the Earth," adding, "What is your plan?" Cannon replied honestly, saying:
"Clearly, I don't have a plan. Honestly, man, it's just so much joy and delight that I have, the family I have, and I embrace it. I love it, and I don't have a plan. That should have been clear from the jump."
To which the Bravo host replied with a follow-up question, "A vasectomy?" The father-of-twelve asked with a laugh if that was what he wanted him to get before passionately declaring, "This is my body, my choice."
At this point, Anderson Cooper asked him if he had any New Year's resolutions. The "Love Don't Cost a Thing" actor disclosed that he does not make any but was happy for his health and filled with a lot of gratitude for the new year.
He advised new fathers to operate out of love, adding, "I mean, people may say that is what got us here in the first place, but that's what I always do, and always do it with a smile."
Fans would recall that in 2022 alone, he welcomed four children, Onyx, Rise, Beautiful, and most recently, Halo, making him a father for the twelfth time. The Blast shared that the 42-year-old welcomed his daughter with model Alyssa Scott last year in December.
In an interview, he did not rule out having more kids in the future but noted that he was okay with the number he had at the time. He told Billboard, "I don't know, man. I have no idea. I think I'm good right now!"
The rapper also stated that the kids were his top priority, saying, "That's my number one priority. I wake up being a father thinking about my kids, and everything else comes after that."
The couple welcomed their second child together after the death of their first son Zen to brain cancer at five months in 2021. The 29-year-old posted a video documenting her arrival, starting with remembering their late son as the scene cut to the delivery room where voices urged her to push.
It showed the exact moment Halo was born and the look of wonder on her father's face as he was the first to catch her as she exited her mother's womb. In the caption, she wrote about Zen and stated that she would forever remember her daughter's first cry and the feel of her heartbeat, ending with:
"My sweet girl, I got my surprise!! We love you Halo Marie Cannon! đ¤ @rebeccacoursey_photosandfilm.â
Akon Supports The 'Wild n Out' Host's Speed At Making Babies
Cannon is taking the act of multiplying his seed a bit too seriously, but it seems like that is something the "Smack That" singer can behind as he also has multiple kids. The Blast shared that the singer is a proud polygamist, and the women in his life reportedly do not mind.
In an interview, Akon disagreed when Cannon was called irresponsible, saying that instead, he was the "most responsible" guy. He explained that since the star was rich and stood solidly behind his baby mamas, they lived comfortably and had no complaints.
When the interview mused if it would stop the TV personality from attending events for his kids, the entrepreneur said, "who gives a fâk about a recital," adding that the most important thing was providing for them and providing them with a good background.
The Senegalese-born rapper said that men were natural breeders and could not stop themselves even if they wanted to.
