Bubba Wallace rang in the New Year as a happily married man!
The NASCAR driver walked down the aisle with his longtime girlfriend, Amanda Carter, in a sweet New Year's Eve ceremony surrounded by their cherished family and friends. The wedding, which was held in JW Marriott in Charlotte, North Carolina, comes almost a year and a half after Wallace popped the question in July 2021.
Bubba Wallace Marries Amanda Carter In New Year's Eve Ceremony With 200 Guests
When Wallace and Carter made things official on December 31 after five years of dating, their loved ones were beyond ecstatic. The lovebirds' fans shared the same feeling when the news was broken to them soon after. In a joint announcement shared on Instagram, the couple wished their combined hundreds of followers a "Happy New Year from the Wallace's!"
Starting with a black-and-white pic of the newlyweds smiling as they walked into their reception, the bride glowed in a sleeveless white lace fit-and-flare gown. The floor-length outfit came with a low V-neck that emphasized her bosom and a plunging back.
The bride's gown, created by Madam Barcu Couture, made another appearance in the next slide as Wallace held Carter around her waist while she held a bouquet of red and white roses. A third pic featured the 29-year-old ditching his deep red velvety tuxedo to party with their guests.
The jacket made a reappearance in the fourth slide alongside his white shirt and charcoal pants, which like his tuxedo, was designed by Stitch by Mitch. For this image, Wallace slightly tipped his new bride so he could plant a kiss on her lips and grab her derrière.
Carter welcomed the public display of affection by holding her beau's face with both hands. The dog mom's dark hair was styled in a classic low bun which supported the small veil she wore for the ceremony.
Their comment section was instantly filled with well-wishes from supporters, with one person writing, "Congratulations Bubba and Amanda. Amanda is definitely Bubba's better half and I love how much better you two make each other. Great way to start out the year and here's to you two."
A second fan commented, "Congratulations to 2 amazing humans! Happy New Year & thanks for sharing pics of your special day with us!" A third person chimed, "Congratulations from 🇨🇦! You both looked gorgeous, and I couldn't be happier for you two!"
Wallace and Carter had been intentional about planning their big day, choosing to treat their guests to cocktail hour with an open bar. Attendees also enjoyed some hors d'oeuvres that included tuna tartar, pulled pork spring rolls, duck meatballs, blue crab croquettes, and whipped ricotta. However, for the main course, the couples wanted a less formal setup, with Carter telling PEOPLE:
"We're not doing a seated dinner with over 200 people. We wanted to make sure that we have time to see everybody. And a seated dinner really can take away from being able to talk to everybody."
Thus, the driver and self-described aspiring artist offered their loved ones four tapas-style stations with a few of their favorite dishes, such as Asian stir fry, tacos, and burgers. As for them marrying each other, Wallace stated:
"Getting married and starting a new life together, I'm just so excited to have a good one in my corner. We have so much fun together."
The Live To Be Different Foundation Founder Previously Suffered A Racist Attack
The Blast observed in June 2020 that the discovery of a noose in Wallace's garage stall had upset those within the NASCAR community. The incident, which occurred at the Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama on Sunday, June 21, saw the auto racing and operating company vowing to fish out the culprit in a statement.
When he went on air to address what had happened, ESPN reporter Marty Smith's annoyance was evident to viewers. "It pisses me the hell off, and it pisses everybody else in the sport off who care, not only for Bubba but for every single person he is standing up for," the respected sports host stated.
Smith added that he had spoken to a senior NASCAR official who confirmed that they were "going to find who this person is; they're going to eliminate this person from the sport forever."
Wallace issued a statement addressing the incident, which he called a "despicable act of racism and hatred." Until the attack, the race car driver had openly supported the "Black Lives Matter" movement.
