Wedding bells might be ringing for Robin Roberts and her partner Amber Laign in 2023!

It looks like the time for Roberts and Laign to finally say "yes" after dating for nearly two decades has finally come with the new year. Even though the besotted couple began dating in July 2005, it was not until December 2013 that the television broadcaster publicly came out as gay. Since then, fans have fawned over them, with hopes of seeing them get married.

When they celebrated their 15th anniversary in 2020, Laign recalled how she and Roberts met on a blind date after attempting to cancel twice. Both women must be excited that they eventually met as agreed, as their journey seems to be heading to a significant milestone.

In a conversation with Gabby Bernstein about setting intentions for 2023, Roberts divulged that she wanted to marry her partner. After taking a bit to answer Bernstein's "What are you a 'yes' for?" question, the "Good Morning America" admitted:

"I'm hesitating because I haven't said it out loud yet … I'm saying 'yes' to marriage. We're getting married this year."

Explaining further, the 62-year-old informed the author, saying, "It was something we had talked about, but we had put it off; she became ill," referring to the Plant Juice Oils co-founder's late 2021 breast cancer diagnosis. Roberts reaffirmed that she was "saying yes to that and that next chapter."

When she realized what she had revealed, she said, "I can't believe I just said that," before fanning herself with her cards as Bernstein encouraged her to "create a wedding vision board." The host emphasized that she would focus on the marriage and not just the wedding, which impressed Berstein.

"Saying YES to marriage in 2023 [wedding ring emoji]," she penned under the Monday broadcast clip she posted on Instagram. Within hours, the post had accrued nearly 20k likes, with hundreds of well-wishes dropped in the comment section.

"So happy for you and Amber! Sending all our love your way," Billie Jean King wrote. One person applauded, "I like the correction because marriage is > the wedding," and another agreed, "I love this! I also loved that Robin called out meditating on the actual wedding, which is way more important than the wedding day!"

The clip spoke differently to another fan who admitted, "can't begin to tell you how much this segment moved me. I have watched you guys for years, and this segment, by far, has made the most sudden change in my thinking to date. Thank you for being so open and transparent and for saying 'Yes.'"

A fourth fan noted that Roberts "surprised" herself when she said her 2023 plans "out loud." Others were just excited that the couple was doing better after Laign's breast cancer challenge.

Per The Blast, the "Jeopardy!" host updated her fans on the health crisis in a video that saw her saying, "My sweet Amber wanted me to tell you something that she's been facing. At the end of last year, Amber was diagnosed with breast cancer."

Despite that, Roberts quickly pointed out that the situation was moving along positively, adding, "She had surgery last month and this morning will begin chemotherapy. Thankfully, the prognosis is good."

The television personality also expressed her gratitude to her and Laign's loved ones, who stuck by them and respected their privacy by hiding the news until the patient was ready to share it publicly.

The Sweet Couple Celebrated Cancer-Free Update For Laign

The Blast reported in July 2022 that Roberts had paid tribute to Laign through a touching message on social media. Sharing that her partner had finished her radiation treatment, the Mel Greenberg Media Award winner uploaded a clip of the cancer survivor ringing the celebration cancer bell at a hospital.

For the event, the massage therapist wore a black tank top over a pair of black-and-white striped bottoms and a white Stetson hat with brown designs around it. Although a face mask partly concealed Laign's face, her joy was still visible as she stood beside the bell and read from the plaque behind:

"My treatment is done, the course is run, and I am on my way."

Once she was done reading, the businesswoman rang the bell three times, took her hat off, and jumped excitedly up and down. Several people clapped and cheered in the background as she did her happy dance.
