Paulina Porizkova Starts 2023 With A 'Slight Hangover' Selfie!

Model Paulina Porizkova is known for her candid Instagram reflections and her knack for telling it like it is.

That's why fans weren't surprised when a make-up and filter-free selfie appeared on their dash! However, they were a teeny bit surprised to learn that she was experiencing a "slight hangover" after a night of partying with family and friends!

In her latest Instagram post, the 57-year-old former fashion model confessed that she kicked off the first morning of 2023 after a night of celebrating.

“First morning of 2023, unretouched, unfiltered, and with a slight hangover from a wonderful night with my closest friends and son,” she wrote as she reflected on the past year. In November, she released a collection of personal essays in her latest book, “No Filter.”

“2022 began with me being immersed in writing my book and in my past. It ended with the gratification of my book reaching you all, and your reactions to it,” she continued. “Sandwiched in between, there was a new life: travel, modeling work as an older woman, and making new friends wherever I went. A beautiful and perfect blend of the new and the old.”

She then moved on to discuss her hopes for the new year. “In 2023, my hopes are to be able to let go of the past,” she explained. “To quit trying to live in it for comfort - even though it hurts and will keep hurting as long as I sit there. The unknown ahead is scary. So scary, that the pain of the past is preferable.

“This is what I want to conquer next. My fear of the unknown. To boldly go where I have never been before,” she went on. “Here is to a new year and the unknown. Here’s to embracing change. Getting wiser, getting older, getting bolder. Happy New Year all of you.”

She capped off the post with the hashtags #betweenjloandbettywhite, #unfiltered, #selfie, #newyear, and #firstselfieoftheyear.

Shortly before 2022 came to an end, Paulina shared a photo of her standing at a train station. It is snowing out, and the snow has piled up on the tracks. She is wearing a pink hat to match her oversized purple jacket and covered her neck with a chunky brown scarf. It looks like she’s the only one standing on the platform as she waited for the train to arrive in the freezing weather.

In the caption, she wrote, “So many powerful people who left us in just the last few days of the year, referring to Pope Benedict XVI, the legendary Barbara Walters, fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, and Brazilian professional footballer Pelé, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

“On a personal front, the wonderful, talented, and kind Patrick Crean, brother of my one of my closest friends,” Paulina added. “Their loved ones are in mourning and my heart goes out to all of you who have joined the grief club.”

“We arrive and we leave. So let’s make the best of our train ride,” she concluded, wrapping up her post with the hashtags #goodbye2022, #goodbyes, #thetripisworthit, and #betweenjoloandbettywhite.

Fans took the time to also share the ones they lost in 2022 in the comments of her post. One follower wrote, “I would like to turn in my grief club membership card, please. I've been a card-carrying member since I turned twelve and have had my card punched regularly since. There's only a raggedy border left to relinquish now, but it's done its time and so have I. It, as well as myself, cannot take any more punches.”

Paulina replied, “I am so so sorry.” Another follower chimed in, “I am so sorry and yes my card has been punched with both my parents in 2016 and a younger brother. I know that punch leaves a hole in my heart also, but I hang on to their incredible lives. They are ALWAYS with us.”

Many other fans agreed that there were a lot of celebrity deaths in 2022, but are optimistic that 2023 will be better!
